AEW Announces First Women's Blood & Guts Match Teams

The Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite is set for Wednesday, November 12. As mentioned earlier, the women's teams were officially announced during Collision, which was the Fright Night edition of the weekend show. Renee Paquette was the one who revealed the final list of participants in a video segment.

The brutal match has been around since the May 5, 2021, episode of AEW Dynamite, and in two weeks, the first women’s match will happen. The first team includes the heels of the women’s division: TBS Champion Mercedes Mone, Megan Bayne, Death Riders’ Marina Shafir, and The Triangle of Madness (Thekla, Julia Hart, and Skye Blue).

While the second team includes AEW Women’s Champion Kris Statlander, former AEW Women’s Champions Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter, Queen Aminata, Willow Nightingale, and Harley Cameron.

Since the announcement was shared on X, fans' reactions were mixed due to several omissions from the teams, such as Tay Melo and Anna Jay, who have been feuding with the Triangle of Madness from the start.

One fan wrote:

“Stoked...but high key TayJay better be winning the tag titles if they're getting omitted here. Stat & Toni don't need to be in this match.”

While another tweeted:

“Why are TayJay not in the match when they've been part of this feud from the start???”

Other fans pointed out the omission of ROH Women’s Champion Athena. One said:

“In my opinion anthena should be in the match and replace marina shafir what do you think guys?”

While another fan advised AEW:

“The women’s one has to main event. And both better go 35+mins each.”

Either way, it's going to make history for the company, even if some of the names on the teams don't make as much as others that were left off.

The Men’s Teams Announced

During this Saturday’s episode of Collision, the men’s Blood & Guts teams were also announced. Not surprisingly, the first team is the Death Riders’ Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, and PAC.

The second team includes The Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Mark Briscoe, as well as Roderick Strong and Darby Allin.

Last year’s match was Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Mark Briscoe, Darby Allin, Max Caster, and Anthony Bowens) vs. The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, Kazuchika Okada, Jack Perry, and "Hangman" Adam Page).

So once again, these matches will be taking place on Wednesday, November 12, for the Blood & Guts edition of Dynamite. The show is set to be in Greensboro, North Carolina.
