The fallout of a momentous AEW Dynasty, AEW returns to Washington for a special Spring BreakThru edition with three title matches, including the AEW World Championship. With so much fallout, expect new directions. Yet given some of the outcomes, expect some feuds and grudges from Sunday’s card in Vancouver to escalate. And in some cases, perhaps we’ve already seen the groundwork for what’s next.
For example, Kevin Knight overcame eight other men to win the Casino Gauntlet match for the vacant TNT Championship. In his first defense, The Jet will take on the Death Rider executor and human workhorse, Claudio Castagnoli. However, a bigger question about the pairing of JetSpeed was asked by commentators after Knight’s win, likewise, during the AEW Dynasty media scrum.
The journey Knight and Bailey have been on this year is intriguing. The Jet has been presented as a future world champion. Part of me questions whether, with Swerve Strickland taking an interest in Knight earlier this year and Bailey recently showing his allegiance to Kenny Omega, we are heading for a split?

Since losing the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship, Willow Nightingale has been on a tear. Through a series of open challenges, the Babe with the Power welcomed back and defeated two fan-favourite women’s division returns. Beating both Hiraku Shida and Queen Aminata, Nightingale has given herself the nickname “The Comeback Killer”.
During the AEW Dynasty preshow, another female wrestler returned. Kamille, someone who rumours had suggested might have been done with AEW before she started, is back. Having been away filming a reboot of the classic game show, American Gladiators, this hurricane returned with dominance. Destroying a local talent and assaulting Nightingale during an interview with Renee Paquette, the former muscle for Mercedes Mone has her eyes on the TBS prize.

A former NWA World Women’s champion, Kamille was impressive on NWA Powerrr. Even as the muscle for Moné, some perceived cracks in the powerhouse’s towering, intimidating persona. Having only beaten local talent in squash matches, with no other time to shine, her capabilities have been strictly controlled. Given AEW’s philosophical framework can expose wrestlers’ weaknesses, this bout will show if Kamille can compete at the elite level.
“Your boy just proved that there ain’t nobody on the level of The Devil.”

Throughout the run-up to Dynasty, Darby Allin made MJF aware of his desire to challenge for the AEW World Championship. Although it took a few weeks, one piece of the puzzle that was missing, the reasoning and emotional drive for Allin’s chase, was provided. Yet is that, and the momentum of a huge victory over Andrade El Idolo enough?
Not one to wait weeks or a month, Allin wanted the match this Sunday, near to his home ground. Given the beatings both Allin and MJF experienced at the hands of their opponents on Sunday, will either man be in good enough physical shape? We know from history that Allin doesn’t care. Recklessly, he will destroy himself to achieve his goals. But what about Maxwell Jacob Friedman?
The Devil doesn’t play fair. The Devil has plans and back-up plans. Despite their individual physical pain, this won’t be a fair fight. Historically, it hasn’t been. MJF has always found ways to cheat and beat Allin before. Or, could we, after several PPV quality match-ups on TV with definitive results, be about to see a time limit draw? Is this feud going to build to Double or Nothing? Failure has never stopped Allin before.
