Here Are Your Key Moments From AEW Dynamite For October 1, 2025

  • Following the Trios match that kicked off the show, Jurassic Express appeared to save Kenny Omega from a Josh Alexander attack. Jack Perry and Omega began to fight back and forth with each other, until Perry and Luchasaurus fought off the Young Bucks to the back.
  • Kenny Omega takes the mic and gives an impassioned speech about the six-year anniversary of AEW Dynamite, and thanks the fans, past and present, for being along for the ride. Following his speech, the lights went out and came back on, revealing a returning Andrade El Idolo to the ring, who attacked Omega in the ring. Don Callis enters the ring and reveals he was behind the return of Andrade, adding him to the Don Callis Family.
  • Mark Briscoe appears in a backstage promo and says for the past three months, he's been consumed by MJF. He told him not to invoke Jay Briscoe's name, but did it anyway, and showed him his words had consequences at All Out. Briscoe says that although MJF cost him his own shot at the TNT Championship, he's excited to see Orange Cassidy get his shot.
  • At the conclusion of their match, Hologram appears from the back to assist Orange Cassidy. Hologram sweeps Cassidy's legs and causes Cassidy to lose. It's revealed that it's not Hologram, but the clone that Don Callis has mentioned previously, aligning with the Family.
  • Mercedes Mone appears backstage to discuss her TBS Championship reign, 16 days away from being the longest reign in the title's history. She says she's going to face someone in Florida next week at Daily's Place. Harley Cameron appears with the Mercedes puppet and makes her pitch to be her tag team partner in pursuit of the new AEW Women's Tag Team Championships.
  • Samoa Joe took offense to "Hangman" Adam Page appearing to take his tag during their six-man tag match, and a shoving match occurred, setting up a potential feud between the two for the AEW Championship. After the break, Page tells Renee Paquette that Joe told him he never beat him. Page says he's going to give him his match at WrestleDream for the AEW World Championship.

Mark Briscoe Needs A Shot At The AEW World Championship

Mark Briscoe has certainly made a name for himself in AEW, having begun an unintended singles run after the tragic passing of his brother, Jay. After several solid programs, including a fantastic Tables 'N Tacks Match against MJF at All Out, it's time to capitalize on his success and give him a proper shot at the AEW World Championship.

Briscoe has the potential of carrying the AEW banner for a period of time, and a proper program against "Hangman" Adam Page would be both unique and fascinating from a face vs. face perspective. Briscoe has certainly proved himself as one of the major players in the company, something Tony Khan says he agrees with, and this would be the best way to elevate him as a performer.

Six Years Later, AEW Remains Alive And Well

When AEW began, fans were excited about a brand-new alternative on television, many of whom had grown weary of the WWE product that had become stale and formulaic. AEW represented an alternative that focused heavily on wrestling, showcasing some of the best talent the world has to offer.

The company experienced some highs and lows; personnel and creative, but has consistently maintained its own personality and forged its own path. AEW continues to offer some new, something fresh, six years later.
