This article contains results and spoilers from AEW Dynamite for October 1, 2025. You have been warned!
It's been six years since AEWDynamite premiered on TBS, altering the landscape of professional wrestling and bringing it back to a Turner broadcast station. Tonight's card is starting off with a bang, a Trios match featuring Kenny Omega and Brodido against The Young (Broke) Bucks and Josh Alexander.
Orange Cassidy faces off against Kyle Fletcher for the TNT Championship, and Jurassic Express returns. Other matches on the card include Darby Allin and Kris Statlander against Wheeler Yuta and Marina Shafir, and The Death Riders against "Hangman" Adam Page, Samoa Joe, and Powerhouse Hobbs.
Mark Briscoe has certainly made a name for himself in AEW, having begun an unintended singles run after the tragic passing of his brother, Jay. After several solid programs, including a fantastic Tables 'N Tacks Match against MJF at All Out, it's time to capitalize on his success and give him a proper shot at the AEW World Championship.
Briscoe has the potential of carrying the AEW banner for a period of time, and a proper program against "Hangman" Adam Page would be both unique and fascinating from a face vs. face perspective. Briscoe has certainly proved himself as one of the major players in the company, something Tony Khan says he agrees with, and this would be the best way to elevate him as a performer.
When AEW began, fans were excited about a brand-new alternative on television, many of whom had grown weary of the WWE product that had become stale and formulaic. AEW represented an alternative that focused heavily on wrestling, showcasing some of the best talent the world has to offer.
The company experienced some highs and lows; personnel and creative, but has consistently maintained its own personality and forged its own path. AEW continues to offer some new, something fresh, six years later.
