The Young Bucks lost their World Tag Team titles during Wednesday's episode of Dynamite. Private Party has finally established itself as the duo to beat in AEW's tag division. However, its victory appears to have triggered a new angle for Matt and Nick Jackson.
The two Executive Vice Presidents (EVPs) were seen shredding paper in their locker room before hightailing it out of the arena following their loss. According to the Wrestling Observer newsletter, the duo is expected to be away from AEW programming for the foreseeable future. Part of the reason for their hiatus is Nick is dealing with a shoulder injury.
"The Young Bucks did an angle after dropping the tag titles to Private Party where they were shredding papers and left to 'work at home,'" Wrestling Observer reported. "The idea is that Moxley’s group has caused so much chaos that it’s unsafe and they don’t want to get involved, with the idea of eventually coming back and saving AEW. Nick has a separated shoulder and has been working on it for weeks...It’ll be no longer than January since they are confirmed for the joint AEW & NJPW show at the Tokyo on 1/5."

The timing of the Young Bucks' exit is perfect. Jon Moxley and his revamped Blackpool Combat Club are running riot within AEW. Currently, Orange Cassidy, Daniel Garcia and Darby Allin are the three big babyface names that have currently stepped up and defended the promotion.
By writing the Young Bucks out of television, AEW is playing into the notion that they're running scared of the BCC. Moxley is a huge threat to everyone within the company, so it makes sense why the two EVPs would want to steer clear of the current battle.
However, their absence will also benefit the Private Party. The newly crowned tag champions won't have to rehash their storyline with Matt and Nick. Instead, they can focus on legitimizing their reign by facing some of the best teams in the AEW tag division without the need for pointless interference over their next few matches.
Sooner or later, the Young Bucks will return. Some time away from television will allow them to heal up and ensure they don't go stale with the audience. When they do eventually return, it will be interesting to see whether they're going to be defending AEW, or looking to increase the chaos behind the scenes.
AEW is in a really strong spot at the moment. If there was ever a time it could sustain the loss of the Young Bucks, it would be now.
