AEW should resist temptation of adding a third show

AEW has enjoyed a strong 2025 thus far. Viewers are rising, storylines are compelling and there appears to be a renewed focus on social media promotion from the company. The result has been a consistently strong product, which in turn has generated significant interest from old and new fans alike.

Now, as AEW prepares for All-In in Texas on Saturday, July 12, it would appear questions about the future are starting to arise. After all, this is AEW's first stadium show in the United States and its largest gate in North America.

During a recent interview with WFAA, Tony Khan was asked whether AEW would consider adding a third show to it's programming, considering the current trajectory of the company.

"Great question there," Khan replied, via Robert Defelice of Fightful. "I think we've done a great job in 2025, focusing now on the two primary AEW shows that we're doing, which are Wednesday Night Dynamite and Saturday Night Collision...There's definitely an opportunity to continue growing following the AEW media rights continuing to grow and develop new platforms for AEW. But certainly in 2025, right now, we're feeling great about Wednesday Night Dynamite and Saturday Night Collision as the primary TV shows today."

It's easy to forget that until recently, there were three AEW shows per week. Dynamite, Collision and Rampage all ran together for over a year. It's no coincidence that once the company downsized to two shows and created a crossover in how stories were told, things started to change.

Adding a third show back at this point would be foolish. Khan and AEW's creative team have found a winning formula. Fans are responding to what's being produced, both on the microphone and in the ring. Changing the approach now, and reverting to something that was clearly not working, would be malpractice.

Instead, AEW should stay the course. Continue developing talent, creating homegrown stars and driving new fans to fall in love with the product. There will be plenty of time for new ventures in the future. Now is the time to learn from the mistakes of the past and embrace the growing fanfare surrounding the company and its product.
