Injuries are no joke in professional wrestling, as the sport often takes a massive toll on the performers, and that is the case here for two big stars in AEW. Both names were just recently active, and their injuries don't have much information released about them, such as severity, or even when they might be able to return to in-ring action.
All the best to these stars, and fans are hoping to see them in the ring sooner rather than later.
As was mentioned during Dynamite this week, Switchblade Jay White has been replaced and is going to miss participating in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament as he is suffering from a legitimate injury. AEW created a storyline reason that he was attacked by the Death Riders before Dynamite.
Fightful Select learned that White is expected to undergo some sort of surgery for the injury, but aren't sure what that injury is exactly. With that being said, there isn't a confirmed timetable for White to possibly return, as everything is far too new to figure things out as of yet. White last appeared in AEW on the March 29th episode of Collision, where he scored a win over Kevin Knight.
The second star that was recently confirmed to be injured is none other than former AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy. Fightful Select learned that Cassidy might have torn his pectoral muscle, but there isn't confirmation on how that injury occurred exactly or when.
The recovery time of an injury like a torn pectoral muscle can typically take anywhere from six months to a full year to recover from, so Cassidy could be on the shelf for quite some time. He last appeared on the March 19th episode of Dynamite where he participated in the AEW International title Eliminator against Mike Bailey, Ricochet, and Mark Davis.
