AEW's Darby Allin Reveals Post-Wrestling Plans: Disappearing Act
AEW
  • Darby Allin plans to disappear after wrestling: live privately, make movies, avoid clinging to spotlight.
  • He's a daredevil: beaten in a body bag, dragged by a car, burned, launched—willing to risk it all.
  • At WrestleDream (Oct 18) Allin faces Jon Moxley in a brutal 'I Quit' match; card is stacked.

AEW star Darby Allin has plans for after his wrestling career, and it might not be for everyone. Allin is, after all, a wrestler who is not like everyone else either.

Darby Allin Says He Wants To Disappear After His Career

While on the podcast, “My Mom’s Basement podcast,” he was asked if he liked coaching, and if it was something that he would do after his in-ring career is over. He most recently coached WWE Hall of Famer Sting’s son, Steven Borden. He said:

“I do, but I don’t. I honestly just want to disappear from the world of wrestling [when his career is over]. I don’t want a whole lot to do with it when I’m retired from the in-ring. It’s fun to coach people, but I don’t think I would have the patience for it, with the egos and stuff. I don’t know, I kind of want to just disappear from everything. I want to just live, like, a personal and private life. Make movies and just disappear. I don’t know, it just sounds fun. I don’t want to be one of these guys who’s clinging for the spotlight. Like, ‘Pay attention to me!’ It’s like, dude, I’m at peace with whatever.” (h/t: F4Wonline)

So those are his post-AEW plans: make movies and disappear. Though he’s only 32 years old and has some time left of his pro wrestling career. Even if he does some outrageous stunts that make fans wonder how long he will be able to wrestle. Allin has been beaten while in a body bag, dragged by a car, burned, launched in the air, etc. He’s the definition of daredevil.

Darby Allin Set For WrestleDream

AEW

This Saturday (October 18) is All Elite Wrestling’s WrestleDream pay-per-view. Allin is going to be facing his old foe, Death Riders leader Jon Moxley. The match is going to be an “I Quit” match, so one knows it’s going to be very bloody and brutal.

His last match with the Death Riders saw him team with Kris Statlander, and they defeated Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta on the October 1, 2025, episode of AEW Dynamite. His last match with Mox was a Coffin Match on September 20 at the AEW All Out 2025 pay-per-view. Allin ended up losing the match, so WrestleDream is his chance to get revenge.

Other matches on the card include “Hangman” Adam Page defending his AEW World Title against Samoa Joe, AEW Women’s World Champion Kris Statlander defending against former champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, and Kyle Fletcher is going to be defending his AEW TNT Title against Mark Briscoe.

The AEW Tag Team Champions Bandido and Brody King will defend against The Don Callis Family (Kazuchika Okada and Konosuke Takeshita), and Jurassic Express (Jack Perry and Luchasaurus) will face The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson). The Hurt Syndicate will also be in action, as well as Thekla. So it looks like it’s going to be a stacked event for AEW and an intense match for Allin, who has been battling Mox for a while now.
