AJ Lee Returns to WWE Raw: Confronts Becky Lynch, Sets Up Wrestlepalooza Match

Here Are Your Key Moments From Monday Night Raw For September 8, 2025

• Jey and Jimmy Uso open the show together to address Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed and their attack last week. Before they can begin, the two interrupt The Usos and tell them to tread lightly, because they'll still dispatch them like they did to their cousin, Roman Reigns. Jimmy tells them that they spoke to Adam Pearce and got a match set for them at Wrestlepalooza, but Jey tells them they don't have to wait until then to square up. Reed declines, and LA Knight appears from the back and attacks Reed and Breakker. The duo scrap with Knight and The Usos until they're out of the ring. Knight almost runs into Jey trying to give Reed the BFT, and Knight moves out of the way as Reed splashes Jey into the corner. Jey and Knight yell at each other while Jimmy tries to keep the peace.
• Jimmy Uso is backstage looking for Jey and runs into him getting ready to leave the stadium. Jimmy says LA Knight needs their help against Bronson Reed. Jey says Knight tried to get him and he didn't want to help him, because helping him isn't going to help him get his World Heavyweight Championship back. Jimmy says this isn't like Jey, and that Jey's starting to sound like Roman. Jey leaves the stadium with his bags as Jimmy looks on.
• AJ Lee arrives, with the Women's Intercontinental Championship around her waist. Lee tells all the kids who were confused as to why their millennial parents were so excited last week, she's AJ Lee: their favorite wrestler's favorite wrestler. Lee said she retired ten years ago after thinking she did everything she could, and that there was no way she was going to step back in the ring again. She says she went on a mental health journey, went to therapy and found a way to turn all her mental chaos into superpower. She said she was doing really well until she watched Monday Night Raw and saw her husband, CM Punk, in the ring with Becky Lynch. Lynch interrupts and says that her issues have nothing to do with Punk, but that Lee is wearing her title. Lee challenges Lynch to come and get her title from her since she's the "best of all time". Seth Rollins appears and asks Lynch for the mic, and tells Lee to give Lynch the title back, and they can all leave. Lee says she'll give it back if Lynch agrees to a tag team match: CM Punk and AJ Lee vs. Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Rollins says that he's the World Heavyweight Champion and that Raw is his show, but Punk appears and tries to give Rollins the GTS before escaping. Rollins agrees, and the tag match is set for Wrestlepalooza.
• Bayley is seen in another promo video, saying she doesn't know what the next step is. Bayley finds herself struggling between her Hugger persona and her heel persona, fighting with herself about apologizing to Lyra Valkyria. After more struggle, she says she'll make it right, and the video ends on an ominous note.
• After her loss to Asuka, Nikki Bella is confronted by Asuka and Kairi Sane. Asuka says Bella couldn't possibly defeat her or IYO SKY, and Bella responds by saying she's ready for round two right now. Rhea Ripley appears and asks if there's a problem, to which Asuka replies she has two, her and Bella, and that she's the top dog in WWE. Ripley reminds her that SKY is the top dog around here, as she's fighting for the Women's World Championship.
• Following the main event, Jimmy Uso arrives to save LA Knight from a beating, only to be quickly dispatched by Bron Breakker. Jey Uso arrives to help, only to be speared by Breakker, and as Reed went to deliver a Tsunami Splash to them both, Knight hits Reed and Breakker with a chair to keep them out of the ring. Jimmy and Knight dap up in the ring, until Jey delivers a spear to Knight, telling them "now they're good" as retribution for the splash he received earlier.

AJ Lee Is Back, And As Incredible As Ever

After her surprise return at last week's Friday Night SmackDown, AJ Lee has returned to WWE with a hero's welcome. Lee hasn't been in a WWE ring for ten years and hasn't missed a step. Every single millennial wrestling fan screamed in both excitement and delight at her return, including your fearless author here, and it's a dream come true to see her back.

Lee sets the table for her first match back with CM Punk against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch, and her return adds another dynamic to the Punk/Rollins feud with Lynch, setting absolute fire to the Raw women's division. This story between Punk and Rollins hasn't missed a beat, and Lee's addition to the fold only makes it more exciting, so excuse us elder millennials while we light it up.

The Usos Are Reunited And Set For Action At Wrestlepalooza

The Usos have officially reunited on Monday Night Raw, and after a vicious attack by The Vision, they're set for their first match back together since March at the upcoming Wrestlepalooza. One of the best tag teams of their generation, and among the best ever, it's exciting to see them back together for another run.

While Jey's career has taken him to the top of the WWE mountain, one he still finds himself involved in, Jimmy's trajectory has remained somewhat neutral, despite being a perpetual crowd favorite since his return to babyface status. Jimmy is long overdue for singles gold with WWE, and we're hopeful the fortunes change for Big Jim after Indianapolis.
