Becky Lynch Reveals Embarrassing Celebrity Encounter with Chris Hemsworth

Lynch met the future “God of Thunder” at a Crunch Fitness in Chicago around 2009 as a 22-year-old. Two years before Hemsworth’s Marvel debut as Thor. Lynch recognized the actor from the Australian TV Soap Opera Home and Away, where he portrayed Kim Hyde.

“Chris Hemsworth walks by and I’m like, “Ah, you’re the guy from Home and Away.” Lynch added, “And then, why did I say this, you idiot… “I bet nobody knows who you are over here.” Why did I say that?”

The Irishwoman is a guest star in the upcoming Paramount+ series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.

Despite being accidentally insulted, Lynch’s words did not affect the meteoric rise of the Aussie actor. The 42-year-old almost crossed over into the world of professional wrestling as Hemsworth was set to star in a Hulk Hogan biopic. The project was scrapped in 2024 due to contractual issues.

“The Man” herself has had a rise to fame since that Hemsworth encounter. She would ditch her job as a flight attendant and ultimately reach the pinnacle of sports entertainment, becoming the first woman to win a WrestleMania main event.
