  • Skye Blue returns to the ring after a year, participating in an AEW Women's World Championship eliminator.
  • The four-way match includes AZM, Mina Shirakawa, and champion Toni Storm.
  • Mina Shirakawa wins, earning a title match against Storm at Double or Nothing.

It was confirmed by All Elite Wrestling that Skye Blue would finally be returning to the ring after almost an entire year away. She last appeared on the July 20th, 2024 episode of Collision where she suffered a broken ankle during a match with Hikaru Shida. That injury forced her to take some time away, popping up at meet & greets and signings over the last year.

The return announcement confirmed she would be taking part in a four-way AEW Women's World Championship eliminator, also featuring AZM from STARDOM, Mina Shirakawa, and the champion "Timeless" Toni Storm.

AEW Women's World Title Eliminator

Tonight's Beach Break episode of Dynamite featured a four-way eliminator match for the AEW Women's World Championship with a handful of names making their returns. AZM just recently captured the NJPW Strong Women's Championship in a three-way match against Mercedes Mone and Mina Shirakawa, making her return since her match against Toni Storm on Collision last year.

Mina would also be a part of this match and hasn't been seen on AEW television since late last year during the Storm vs. Mariah May feud. Finally, we had Skye Blue, who, as mentioned, suffered a broken ankle and was forced to miss almost a year of in-ring action.

Women's Title Picture

It would be Mina Shirakawa who was able to roll-up Toni Storm for the victory, earning herself a title match against Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship. A match between Mina and Storm was confirmed for Double or Nothing, while Mercedes Mone and Jamie Hayter are set to face each other in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, with the winner getting a title match against Storm or Mina at All In Texas.

Mercedes holds the TBS Championship and is looking to add another title to her collection after losing the Strong Women's Championship, while Jamie Hayter is looking to gain a measure of revenge after dropping the belt to Storm way back at Double or Nothing 2023.
