Booker T isn’t just a two-time WWE Hall of Famer; he’s one of the few voices in professional wrestling who consistently tells it like it is, no sugarcoating involved. So, when he sounds off on his Hall of Fame podcast, you’d be wise to listen. This time, his target was the recent chaos on SmackDown involving Jade Cargill, Nia Jax, and Tiffany Stratton. And boy, did he have some thoughts.

The triple threat match for the WWE Women’s Title was… well, a mess. The climax saw a botched three-count where the referee awkwardly stopped, Nia Jax kicked out late, and the whole thing just felt off. Booker T didn’t hold back, calling it a “botch,” “a miscommunication,” and “a screw up.” You can’t really argue with that. But his most pointed comments were reserved for one superstar in particular.

The Problem With Jade Cargill’s AEW Run

Booker T zeroed in on Jade Cargill, and his assessment was as sharp as a razor’s edge. “Just think about the time in AEW for her. She probably didn’t learn a whole lot,” he stated, adding, “No disrespect or anything, but she was put on a wing and never really got a chance to wrestle anybody.”

Ouch. But is he wrong? Absolutely. Booker, you do realize its been 2 years since Jade last wrestled in AEW right. There is no more excuses anymore and its ridiculous he throws AEW under the bus here. Cargill’s run in AEW was built on an impressive physique, a killer entrance, and an undefeated streak against a roster. She was presented as a big deal,  a monster, and honestly here WWE run has been a mess.

Now, she’s in the WWE shark tank with performers like Nia Jax, a veteran who, as Booker T suggested, probably feels like she needs to “quarterback this thing.”.

Is Booker T Right About The Steel Steps Incident?

The criticism didn’t stop with the botched finish. Just a few days prior, Jade Cargill was busted open when Nia Jax threw her into the steel steps. What else is knew, its hard to keep track how many times Nia has injured someone in a match. Then Booker says the following

“I can only call that a mistake from someone who hasn’t been in that position too many times before,… “I was an active wrestler for over 20 years, and I never hit my face on the stairs… protecting yourself is something different.”

It’s clear that while Jade Cargill has all the physical tools, she’s still very green. Her time in AEW, while successful on paper, may have been a disservice to her long-term growth as a complete performer. WWE is a different beast entirely. Here, you’re expected to work with a variety of styles, adapt on the fly, and, most importantly, protect yourself and your opponent.

Final Thoughts – Jade Cargill has potential, but needs more time

The botched pin and the bloody injury aren’t just isolated incidents; they’re symptoms of a larger issue. Cargill is learning on the job, on live television, where every mistake is magnified. Can she overcome these growing pains? Absolutely. The potential is undeniable. Let’s just hope she learns and can get better in her WWE career.
