Bret Hart Buries Hulk Hogan Once Again In Latest Interview
Ty Wright / USA TODAY NETWORK

Death, taxes, and Bret Hart addressing his enemies - three things that are certain in life. In a recent interview, The Hitman didn't pull any punches when speaking about Hulk Hogan. The legendary Canadian reignited his long-standing grudge against Hogan, calling out The Hulkster’s lack of influence on modern wrestling and sarcastically embracing Hogan’s backhanded jabs.

Bret Hart: "You Don't See Anybody Imitating Hulk Hogan"

WWE Hall Of Famer Bret Hart has always been vocal about his disdain towards The Hulkster, rooted in what Hart sees as Hogan’s backstage politics and self-serving attitude. The Hitman has often criticized Hogan for putting himself above the business, refusing to pass the torch, and lacking the in-ring skill and storytelling ability that Hart believes defines a true wrestler.

In a new candid sit-down interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Hart addressed past comments made by Hulk Hogan. When speaking about Hart, Hogan had previously remarked:

The problem with Bret Hart is he really does think he was the greatest wrestler of all time.

Hart hilariously responded by acknowledging the statement, saying:

That might be the most truthful thing he's ever said.

Hart further discussed the influence of wrestling styles on today's performers, noting that contemporary wrestlers often emulate the techniques of himself, Dynamite Kid, Curt Hennig, and his brother Owen Hart, while nobody looks to the Hogans of the wrestling world for inspiration:

You don't see anybody imitating Hulk Hogan or Ultimate Warrior.

Where Does Hulk Hogan Stand On Bret Hart's Ranking System?

Most wrestling fans know that Bret Hart has a simple but iconic personal ranking system where he judges wrestlers based on three key qualities: look, mic skills, and wrestling ability. He's given out a few examples, and when it comes to Hulk Hogan, he continues to bury his in-ring ability.

Although Hart acknowledges that Hogan had the look and the promo skills, he insists that he was terrible in the ring, awarding him a "generous 3 out of 10" in that category. One thing is for sure: Bret Hart is nothing but consistent when it comes to his negative feelings towards other wrestlers (see Goldberg, Bill).
