Bryan Danielson reveals when his AEW contract is up

Bryan Danielson is arguably one of the greatest technical wrestlers in history and has been among AEW's biggest stars since joining the company in September 2021.

But Danielson's career as a full-time wrestler is winding down as injuries began piling up in the last few years. He is expected to transition to a part-time role at the end of the year.

However, it would appear his AEW contract doesn't run that long. In a recent appearance on 'Casual Conversations with The Wrestling Classic,' Danielson admitted that his contract will expire before AEW's 'All-In' event at Wembley Stadium.

"The big one is Wembley," Danielson said. "I wanna make it to Wembley. My contract actually expires before Wembley, but I wanna make it to Wembley. I’m not sure if I’ll make it, but one thing that would be a nice way to kind of close everything out for me is to do my last match as a full-time wrestler at WrestleDream at the Tacoma Dome because that’s the first wrestling show I ever saw."

Danielson was named a participant in 'Anarchy in the Arena' at 'Double or Nothing' as part of Team AEW, facing 'The Elite.' All eyes will now be on whether Danielson can agree to a new deal with Tony Khan and AEW. Having Danielson on the roster, even as a part-timer, will be integral for the company. He will become their first veteran to make spot returns and get reactions from the crowd.

One of WWE's biggest advantages is its long list of alumni who are now on 'legends' contracts and make occasional returns. Danielson would be the first to move into a similar role for AEW. As time goes by, they will undoubtedly add to that roster.

For now, though, the aim should be getting Danielson to Wembley and WrestleDream. From there, finding ways to keep him involved on a semi-regular basis will be the next big task on Khan's plate.
