  • Carlito was disappointed by the lack of proper send-off from WWE after his contract ended.
  • He felt his storyline with Judgment Day faction should have been concluded respectfully.
  • Despite this, Carlito had positive things to say about WWE's improved backstage culture under Triple H.

Carlito has broken his silence following the quiet end to his most recent WWE run, saying he enjoyed his second stint with the company, but also some disappointment over how things wrapped up. Noting that he wasn't shocked to be released, he was surprised that WWE didn't write him off the show in a manner fitting for Judgment Day and his character.

Carlito Wanted To Get A Proper Send Off

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the former Judgment Day funny man reflected on his most recent stretch with WWE. It lasted roughly two years, and he noted he wasn't overly surprised when the deal wasn't extended. However, he said he was professional and WWE knows that about him, so it would have been nice to finish the storyline he was involved in with The Judgment Day faction.

“That’s all I would’ve asked,” Carlito said. “At least let me finish out the story for the Judgment Day so they can keep on going. I think it’s a disrespect to the fans that they just dropped the storylines.”

Carlito had been loosely aligned with Judgment Day for nearly a year, but his character was quietly removed from television after his contract expired. When he confirmed on social media that his contract wasn't being renewed, he simply wasn't on the show the following Monday. There was no mention of him, no talk of why he was gone; he just wasn't there. There was no on-screen farewell or storyline closure, something Carlito feels could have been handled better.

He acknowledged that WWE can’t keep everyone forever but believes that giving a proper sendoff—especially when a wrestler is embedded in a key storyline—is a show of respect not just to the performer, but to the fans following along.

Carlito Still Had Great Things To Say About WWE

Despite the disappointment, Carlito did say that the second run was a far more positive experience compared to his earlier years with WWE. He credited the shift in backstage culture, particularly under the leadership of Paul “Triple H” Levesque.

“It was weird showing up to work happy,” Carlito said. “[Before], I was miserable showing up to work. All the tension and old school bull----... With AEW being around too, they know they can’t bully because there are other places for people to go. Hunter has done a good job too of cleaning all that crap out.”

Carlito also noted that there is a “new generation” of wrestling talent at the top and they just won't stand for the type of leadership bullying Vince McMahon used to do.
