Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton faced each other at WrestleMania 41 for the WWE Women’s Title. Initially, it was a dream match for the WWE Universe that became a reality after Flair won the women’s Royal Rumble. However, it became a personal battle when the two stars started dragging each other’s real-life issues during their feud.
Recently, speaking with Sports Illustrated, ‘The Queen’ reflected on her showdown with Stratton at WrestleMania. The former 14-time Women’s Champion said she believes it was everything that it was supposed to be. Flair added that things got pretty heated up between her and ‘The Buff Barbie’, but it went on to deliver one of the most personal battles at ‘The Show of Shows’. So it was perfect in its own right.
I think the match was everything that it needed to be. It definitely got super personal, extremely heated going into WrestleMania. The personal story and how physical it was, the elaborate entrances, we both had our own unique entrance. I thought she showed up and showed out. I thought it was great.

For context, Flair allegedly tried to bury Stratton during a promo segment on SmackDown by going off script. In response, the WWE Women’s Champion fired back at the veteran by dragging up her divorce, something that is extremely personal to Charlotte. Things did not stop there as ‘The Queen’ then went on to claim that Tiffany’s boyfriend, Ludwig Kaiser, is in her DMs.
It created a very awkward feud between the two ladies that became a focal point of this year’s road to WrestleMania. However, despite their issues, Flair and Stratton delivered an incredible battle in Las Vegas that depicted their entire storyline in a single match. However, ‘The Top Girl’ was unsuccessful in seizing the win at ‘The Grandest Stage of Them All’.
Charlotte Flair is one of the greatest WWE talents of all time. She joined WWE’s main roster in 2015 after a significant run in NXT as the NXT Women’s Champion. Thereafter, Flair went on to become a 14-time World Champion, something that makes her an elite superstar. But recently, ‘The Queen’ revealed the real reason behind her wrestling career.
Speaking with WrestleZone, Flair said that while everyone may think it was her father, Ric Flair, who inspired her to join wrestling, it was not. The veteran revealed that she became a WWE star because of her little brother, Reid Flair. The former Women’s Champion said if it was not for her brother, she would not even be here in professional wrestling in the first place.
I know what I thought about. I didn’t get into wrestling from my dad. It was for my little brother. And I think people kind of forget that. Like, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for him.

Reid Flair was also a professional wrestler. But in March 2013, he died from a drug overdose. It was revealed later on that he had been battling addiction for some time. Reid’s death had a huge impact on Charlotte’s life, which eventually inspired her to become a professional wrestler. Often, ‘The Queen’ has dedicated her wins to her brother in WWE.
John Cena defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 41 to become a 17-time WWE Champion. It was a record held by Hall of Famer and Charlotte Flair’s father, Ric Flair, previously for his 16 World Title reigns. Recently, ‘The Queen’ reacted to Cena breaking her father’s record.
In the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Flair acknowledged that ‘The Cenation Leader’ was the right person to break her father’s illustrious record. She added that records are meant to be broken, and it was bound to happen. Therefore, she has nothing but respect for ‘The Franchise Player’.
Records are meant to be broken. I don’t wanna speak for my dad, but I think in this case I can, John was the guy to do it. And I think he couldn’t be more proud of John. Even me seeing John Cena and what he means to the industry and what he means to me as a performer, I don’t think it was sad.

Moreover, the former Women’s Champion stated that she still aims to surpass her father’s legacy. While breaking John Cena’s record may not be her goal, she is determined to go beyond Ric Flair’s legacy in WWE.
