Charlotte Flair is without a doubt one of the greatest female Superstars in WWE history. So when she speaks, fans tend to listen. But recently, ‘The Queen’ stirred up some controversy with her take on the current state of WWE. Speaking from experience—she was part of the first-ever women’s WrestleMania main event—Flair said that main-eventing WrestleMania doesn’t feel all that special anymore.
Speaking on Games With Names, Flair shared her thoughts on how main-eventing WrestleMania has lost some of its magic since 2020. She explained that with WrestleMania now being a two-night event, there are two main events—making the spotlight feel a little less exclusive. According to Flair, if WWE wants to make the main event feel truly special again, they should consider going back to a one-night format.
It was the main event of only one night [Becky v Ronda v Charlotte], now we have two nights. So it’s a big deal, like now you have two nights, two different opportunities, so that being the main event of one night was huge. Like it’ll never happen again, unless we go to one night.

Flair also pointed out that she doesn’t believe women will get to main event WrestleMania again anytime soon. Despite the event being split into two nights for the past six years, women have only closed the show once—back in 2021, when Sasha Banks faced Bianca Belair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Since then, no women’s match has headlined WrestleMania, and Flair doesn’t see that changing anytime soon. Earlier this year, a lot of fans were pushing for the triple threat between IYO SKY, Bianca Belair, and Rhea Ripley to main event WrestleMania 41.
But despite the buzz and support, WWE once again went with a men’s match to close the show—making it pretty clear that it might still be a while before the women get another shot at that spotlight.
Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch have been some of the greatest rivals in WWE history. The two ladies have fought side by side and against each other multiple times in the company. However, it is a popular story that Flair and Lynch have had a rollercoaster relationship in real life. Recently, ‘The Queen’ addressed her bond with ‘The Man.’
In the same interview on Games With Names, Charlotte Flair shared that things are all good between her and Becky Lynch now. She admitted their relationship has had its fair share of ups and downs, but they’re in a good place at the moment. When asked about a possible feud in the future, Flair said there’s definitely still some story left to tell—so a showdown between the two is bound to happen sooner or later.
We’re cordial… no, we’re good. I still think there’s some story left there, so… I don’t think there’s a nail in the coffin yet.

The interviewer then asked Flair to name her favorite match against Becky Lynch. ‘The Queen’ recalled having plenty of great matches with ‘The Man’ over the past decade, but one that stood out was their clash at Survivor Series 2021. What made that bout unique, she noted, was that both of them were heels at the time—just like their current dynamic in WWE.
Charlotte Flair is one of the top heels on SmackDown right now, with a character that gives her plenty of range to shine both in the ring and on the mic. So naturally, the interviewer asked ‘The Queen’ how she gets into that heel mindset in WWE.
In the same Games With Names interview, the former Women’s Champion said she feels like a natural heel—mainly because even when she tries to play a babyface, the fans still boo her. So instead, she leans into it by grabbing the mic and owning the narrative, often telling the crowd that she’s had everything handed to her on a silver platter because she’s a ‘nepo kid.’
I’m not going to tell you I had a bad day. I’m going to make you hate me and just say I’m the greatest, that I didn’t have to work for this.’ Well, being a legacy wrestler and your dad’s Ric Flair, it doesn’t make it easy on you. And I’ve won a lot of matches, titles, had a lot of opportunities.

The 39-year-old did an outstanding job during her feud with Tiffany Stratton earlier this year. Her heel antics were spot on and helped put ‘The Buff Barbie’ over in a big way. It just goes to show how brilliant Flair is when it comes to character work.
