Chris Jericho returned to AEW during the April 1 edition of Dynamite. Jericho, who had missed nearly a year of action, returned to television on Wednesday in his hometown in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada inside Canada Life Centre.
Jericho took time off of wrestling after dropping the ROH Championship to Bandido at AEW Dynasty 2025 last April. He hasn’t been seen since on AEW television — long enough that there were rumors that he could make a return to WWE in the near future.
However, this is no longer the case and Jericho appears to be back for another run in All Elite Wrestling. The 55-year-old wrestling icon looks great to boot. Watch his return below:

“Winnipeg! AEW! I’m home,” Jericho said to the crowd.
Jericho’s music hit to open the show as AEW commentator Tony Schiavone addressed the crowd about what was on the docket for the night. The MJF/Kenny Omega contract signing was supposed to kick off Dynamite before Jericho’s return.
His comeback to AEW comes after it was speculated throughout the day that Jericho’s return was imminent after being away for so long. Jericho recently applied for the trademark “The Cornerstone” late last month. The trademark covers pro wrestling, entertainment services and merchandise.
The return wasn’t always a done deal, however. Jericho’s status with the company was largely unknown after conflicting reports his contract status. This allowed rumors of a WWE return to pick up steam. Now, he’s back in the company where he was crowned inaugural champion of in 2019. It’s the only title he’s won in the promotion.
Of course, Jericho’s career is best known for his work in the WWE. He wrestled in the company in 2018 before making a lone cameo in 2019. His work dated back to the Attitude Era, which included one of the most memorable debuts in wrestling history and was a staple character on WWE television for the better part of two decades.
He’s since moved on to make an impact in Japan, of course AEW, and has even taken some independent bookings from time to time. That’s all came to a halt in the past year but now, it appears he’s back in AEW for the start of a brand new run and perhaps a new character.
