Christian Cage in All Elite Wrestling has been nothing more than remarkable.

He’s been one of the best wrestlers in the ring as he’s outworked everybody. At first, when he showed up at AEW Revolution as the surprise signing, fans were unsure what he was going to bring to the table. Especially since everyone was expecting a bigger signing, however, it took fans time to realize what Christian Cage could bring to the table again.

This was no fault of his own. Storyline-wise, how he was positioned, where he was positioned on the card, and fans were expecting something more. But after moving on from Jurassic Express, having his feud with Jungle Boy, and making Luchasaurus aka Killswitch, his bodyguard, Christian’s heel work has been great.

He’s always been better as a heel, even in his WWE days. Go back to his TNA Days. He was great as a heel there, too. But if you think about what Christian Cage has done during his singles run, he’s taken his character, which is to outwork everyone, and changed it to work for everyone, and he continues to do that.

You know, look at what he has done as TNT Champion. The way he went about fighting for the title. Even though Luchasaurus was the champion, Christian Cage claimed he was the TNT Champion. So there was a built-in tension there. AEW loves that long-term storytelling. Christian finally got the win and the TNT Championship in a triple-threat match against Darby Allin and Luchasaurus.

And he’s brought that title back to a level that the company has not seen since the days of Cody Rhodes, Darby Allen, and the late great Brodie Lee. The TNT Championship, for a while was being flipped around like a hot potato until Christian Cage got the title. It has been the main event of a PPV, Collision, and Dynamite show. So you have to tip you cap to Christian for what he has done.

Not only that, but storyline-wise with Nick Wayne, Killswitch, The Patriarchy, being the father figure that Darby Allin couldn’t be or Adam Copeland. Look at his mic skills in the ring towards Jack Perry and his family, Nick Wayne’s mom, Adam Copeland’s family, and Christian, making you want to hate him and see him lose. But he keeps winning and outworking the fans.

Again, he has elevated that title, going up against Darby Allin, Adam Copeland, and others. Christian Cage is putting in some of the best work of his career.

You think about it. Cristian was part of the great tag team with Adam Copeland, known as Edge and Christian in WWE. But he made a name for himself outside of WWE. In TNA, he won a world championship. You go to AEW, and he beats Kenny Omega for the Impact World Championship during Omega’s run as the Belt Collector. Whether it was the right decision or not, he still won the Championship from Omega and competed for the AEW World Championship against Omega as well.

And now he’s got the TNT Championship and he’s just taking his character to a whole new level. And you have to love it. Even MJF, the AEW World Champion, stated that Christian Cage has taken his game to another level.

“There is Christian Cage, who I think is a schmuck, however, in my opinion, this is the best he’s been in his entire career. When I say that, it’s not hyperbolic. You know I’m right. Let’s think about how long Christian has been in the wrestling world. This is his best work, and he’s about to go in there with Darby Allin. Have I beaten Darby with a headlock takeover twice? Absolutely, but I’m the best wrestler in the world. That’s not a fair comparison. Darby Allin is hands down, one of the most enigmatic and insane professional wrestlers in the history of the sport. Those two guys are going to go at for the TNT belt,” MJF said in an interview with Wrestle Purists prior to WrestleDream on October 1st.

Nobody expected this when this signing came, and it’s great for the company. It’s great for that title. And again, he just continues to put on great matches in the ring. Great work on the mic. Adam Copeland came back and Christian had his Go F Yourself moment. Those two former partners go back and forth and they just had a good singles match on Dynamite in Montreal. Again, the finish saw Christian outwork everyone again.

Those two are not done either. Not even close. They will have a PPV-quality match down the road. And everyone wants to see if Christian Cage will be the one to end Sting’s career.

But if you look at what Christian Cage is doing, he’s putting in some of the best work of his career, and it’s helping AEW and the TNT championship.
