CM Punk Addresses R-Truth Backlash After WWE Monday Night Raw

WWE fans made their feelings known during the June 2, 2025, edition of Monday Night Raw, showing vocal support for the recently departed R-Truth. His expected exit from WWE, due to his contract not being renewed, has resonated with many.

Throughout the broadcast, particularly during the main event Money in the Bank qualifying match featuring CM Punk, AJ Styles, and "El Grande Americano" Chad Gable, the crowd erupted into loud “We Want Truth” chants.

After Raw went off the air, CM Punk, who won the qualifier, grabbed a microphone to address the live audience and the R-Truth chants. With a knowing smirk, Punk sarcastically commented on the situation. “How dare you sing someone’s name when they’re not here?” Punk reportedly asked the crowd.

This remark drew laughter from the WWE fans in attendance, many of whom undoubtedly remembered the years when Punk's own name was frequently chanted during his lengthy absence from WWE. The repeated chants for R-Truth during Raw served as a clear sign that the audience is not pleased with what they view as an unfair departure for the beloved superstar.

While reports suggest WWE, under TKO, may not have renewed his contract due to business decisions, WWE fans at Raw and those reacting online feel very differently about R-Truth's value and his nearly 17-year legacy of entertainment with the company.

Another aspect of the story is how beloved Truth is with the stars in the locker room. He will leave a gap that is hard to fill going forward.
