Current WWE champion deactivates her X account after bullying by fans over recent in-ring debacle

Social media these days isn’t for the faint hearted. The platforms in there, most notably X, has continually harbored toxicity toward any personality that’s polarizing, especially if it’s a pro wrestler. Having said that, current WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax has fell to it. The 40-year-old grappler has deactivated her X account.

It has come on the heels of her subpar performance inside WarGames match at Survivor Series. To put it as bluntly as possible, it was a disaster. Jax has been under fire since botching her chair shot sequence with Naomi. During the live broadcast, the champ was visibly reluctant to swing that prop on Naomi, who only made life difficult for Nia by not showing her back and instead kept ducking.

WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi recently addressed the moot point during his podcast. The 59-year-old said that Jax’s chair smacking on Naomi came across as if it were a love tap. Rikishi did note that the woman in-question was too concerned about hurting her opponents and hence she toned it down.

However, the former Too Cool member advised The Irresistible Force to not let her emotions get the better of herself whilst she’s performing. Online trolls went hard at Jax. Some even called for her retirement while others claimed that she’s got a job in WWE because of her Samoan roots.

Nia even responded to a few of those comments admitting that she loves to evoke emotions among her critics. However, apart from being an on-screen giant, she’s a human too, and like others, she has her boiling point. It’d be one to look for when/if she steps back on X after all the vitriol that’s been spewed at her.

Despite Survivor Series low, Nia Jax had a successful 2024

Nia Jax remains one of the two female wrestlers to have main evented a WWE PLE this year. She did it at the Elimination Chamber in Australia, though in a losing attempt to Rhea Ripley for the women’s world title.

Jax is technically an Aussie as she was born in Sydney. Her other notable accolades of 2024 include becoming the Queen of the Ring. To follow it up, she dethroned Bayley at SummerSlam to capture her first title since returning to WWE last September.

She’s over four months into her title reign and doesn’t seem prone to losing it soon. However, a returning Charlotte Flair might cause problems for the Oz. There are rumors of The Queen possibly going after Jax in her pursuit of gold. Flair has been out of action for a year but is expected back by early 2025.
