Cutting Ties: WWE Should Break Up The MFT
Dylan Azari / Special to the Telegram & Gazette / USA TODAY NETWORK / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images

What was once known as The Bloodline, Solo Sikoa rebranded the group as his own, MFT (My Family Tree). Currently, Solo’s group consists of Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Talla Tonga. Tama Tonga is technically in the group, but he has been away for nearly a year due to an undisclosed injury. With the assumption that Solo wants to take MFT to newer heights, maybe it’s time for everyone to move on. Sikoa felt on top of the world during his reign as WWE United States Champion.

JC Mateo As A Single Competitor

When JC Mateo made his debut earlier this year, he wasted no time in making an impact. The moment Mateo joined WWE, he made his mark by joining Solo Sikoa’s MFT. Even though Mateo is part of this faction, it feels as if he is just there and has no significance in aligning with Solo.

If MFT disbands, Mateo should reclaim the name that made him famous, Jeff Cobb. With Mateo wrestling as a heel in other promotions, including WWE, for five years, now it might be time to turn him face. Mateo fits perfectly in the midcard scene. A build similar to Rhyno, Mateo can be someone who gets the fans behind him with his destructiveness. Whether he is on SmackDown or RAW, he can work well with a variety of WWE talent.

The Revival of G.O.D.

Although Tama Tonga has been out of action for a while, he can come back with a plan ready for him. When Tonga makes his return, he should reunite with his brothers, Tonga Loa and Tala Tonga. Tama and Loa should become a tag team and have Tala built as their manager. Tonga Loa and Tala Tonga, as a tag team, could help reshape the tag division by adding more teams gunning for the titles.

Sikoa Going Solo For Good

Throughout Solo Sikoa’s main roster run, he has consistently aligned himself with different stables. When Sikoa was in NXT, he carved his own path. Sikoa wanted to be someone who could make a name for himself without relying on his family’s acknowledgment.

Maybe it’s time for Sikoa to go in his own direction and find himself. If a draft for WWE occurs in 2026, maybe move him to RAW and his brothers, The Usos, to SmackDown. Let him showcase his talents and personality to the WWE Universe.

Regardless of whether Sikoa is on the same brand as The Usos, I  hope WWE ensures to separate him from any Bloodline stories for the time being. To shift his character even more, elevate Sikoa as a baby face while working his way in the mid-card scene until he’s ready to move to the main event picture.
