Hirata’s First Title Defense Against Yoshihiko

Kazuki Hirata got the biggest victory of his 15-year career when he used his Right to Challenge title shot at Wrestle Peter Pan to beat Yuki Ueno for the KO-D Openweight Championship. It was one of the biggest surprises in the promotion’s 28-year existence, and one of its most unforgettable moments.

Since then, Hirata has been doing everything he can to escape the other three remaining wrestlers with the Right to Challenge sleeves. It was only at Fighting Beer Garden in Shinjuku Extra Innings two weeks ago that he chose his first challenger in the form of the blow-up doll Yoshihiko.

This will be their fourth singles match, with the challenger winning all of their previous three. Perhaps the champion chose the wrong opponent, but that question will be answered this Sunday, as well as whether he can keep dodging the current Right to Challenge holders.

The Biggest Match of Masada’s Young Career

Takeshi Masada made his pro-wrestling debut three years ago in a singles match against “Mr. DDT” HARASHIMA. That booking decision itself clearly showed the confidence DDT’s management has in him, and he has a golden opportunity to prove them right this Sunday.

However, the task at hand is going to be an uphill battle as he challenges Minoru Suzuki for the Universal title. He definitely bit off more than he can chew, but can he dig deep and somehow find a way to beat the legend in the biggest match of his career so far?

Kaisei Takechi Guns for His First Title

Performer-actor turned pro-wrestler Kaisei Takechi is looking to capture his first championship as part of a six-man team with The 37KAMIINA’s (Sauna KAMIINA) To-y and Yuki Ueno. They will face the team of Hideki Okatani, MJ Paul, and Ilusion representing Damnation T.A. for the vacant Six-Man Tag Titles.

While he’s only wrestled in four matches so far, Takechi has successfully utilized his athletic ability in his performances. He has to channel all that and even go higher to help his team and get a taste of pro-wrestling gold.

Evil Uno Comes To DDT

The leader of the Dark Order is set to make his Japan debut this Sunday in a tag team match against Jun Akiyama and HARASHIMA, with Danshoku Dieno as his partner. Uno is the third AEW talent to fly over this year, following MxM Collection’s debut in June.

It will be interesting to see how his style will fit, especially in a team with one of DDT’s icons in Dieno against two other icons themselves. This match will be his first one this month since his previous one at Canada’s Capital City Championship Combat on August 15.

In other news, The Apex (Yuki Iino & Yukio Naya) successfully defended their KO-D Tag Team titles for the fourth time against reigning Extreme Champion To-y and Yuya Koroku last Tuesday at Dramatic Expo 2025. It will be available to watch today on Wrestle Universe at 5 p.m. JST/4 a.m. ET.
