If I’m one of the fine people of Oklahoma City right now, I’m feeling got because Dominik Mysterio just pulled off the troll of the year, faking the crowd into thinking that John Cena was making a surprise appearance.
Mysterio made his way out and as the crowd booed, yelled in Spanish until he turned to address Cena. Mysterio told Cena that on Saturday, he’s going to embarrass him and he’s going to take back his title when he puts an end to the retirement tour. Mysterio says after Saturday, he’ll continue to be the greatest Mysterio of all-time. The crowd continued to boo and Mysterio said it didn’t matter if they cheered for Cena because the man wasn’t here tonight. It felt an awful lot like the kind of line that would have led to a surprise appearance and as Mysterio said he doesn’t blame Cena for not wanting to come to this dump, the moment happened.
Cena’s music hit, sending the OKC crowd into a frenzy. If cameras were on fans’ faces, you probably would have seen a lot of shock and awe and a lot of phones in the air. A few moments ticked by before Cena, albeit a diminutive one, made his way out. Mysterio laughed in the ring as the crowd booed the epic troll. Little Cena came out and performed the Cena routine to perfection. He even had a Little Stu with a little camera with him. One of the funniest scenes of the whole bit was Little Stu standing on a box filming next to real Stu. Little Cena had a little rally towel and launched toward the ring, needing a few attempts to roll under the bottom rope. Mysterio says he ought to drop Cena right now for interrupting him but he’s going to save his energy for Saturday as Cena has no idea what’s coming for him then. Little Cena wasn’t having that however as he called Dominik the worst Mysterio of all-time. Mysterio whispered in his ear that wasn’t part of the plan but Little Cena didn’t care as he said if Mysterio won’t fight him tonight in front of the good people of OKC, then he can come get some at Survivor Series. The champ is here! Despite what must have been obvious disappointment, the crowd rallied behind Little Cena as Mysterio kicked him and then hit the Five Knuckle Shuffle followed by a 6-1-9 and a Frogsplash. Before he could do anything else however, Rey Mysterio hit the scene followed by Judgment Day as JD McDonagh and Mysterio were set for a match.
Dominik Mysterio has gotten no shortage of praise from legends, with many specifically marking on him being the best at what he does. And what he does, is be the ultimate heat magnet. If Mysterio wasn’t WWE’s top heel entering the night, he certainly is now.
