Dominik Mysterio vs Rey Mysterio at WWE Survivor Series? Reports Gives Update
Dominik Mysterio making his WWE entrance

Dominik Mysterio continues to bump heads with his own father, Rey Mysterio, following the WWE Hall of Famer's return on RAW (November 3rd), and the Master of the 619 revelled in his son losing the Intercontinental Championship. Dom lost his title to John Cena this week, which may well have had a knock-on effect on a potential match between the Mysterios at Survivor Series.

Dom vs Rey at Survivor Series Ruled Out

There were suggestions that the plan was for Dom and Rey to face one another at Survivor Series on November 29th, when the latter returned, and they got into a physical altercation on RAW. But if they are to continue their lengthy rivalry, it won't be happening in San Diego, California, at the end of the month.

That's according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, who reports that the match is not planned for the PLE held in the Mysterios' hometown. This might be a result of Dom losing the IC title, as there will be no title at stake to add more intrigue to the follow-up to their WrestleMania 39 classic.

Rey was all smiles and shook Cena's hand once the soon-to-be retired 17-time world champion headed backstage after beating Dom on RAW. It doesn't seem that WWE will be concluding the Mysterio family feud anytime soon, but they don't seem to be planning to face one another at Survivor Series.

Dom is making enemies each week, and tension is growing within The Judgment Day, whom he called out in a backstage tirade after losing the gold. But he still remains AAA Mega Champion, and perhaps that title could be used in the Mysterio rivalry at some stage. But Meltzer suggested it might also mean a rematch against Cena takes place at Petco Park.

Dominik vs Rey Part Two at WrestleMania 42?

There remains so much intrigue in the Dom and Rey feud that fans are eager to see them lock horns again following their battle at WrestleMania 39. The Master of the 619 got the victory on that night in what was one of the best matches of an excellent Mania event on the whole.

While they have also squared off in tag team competition since April 2023, they haven't gone one-on-one, which is why there was a feeling they could do so at Survivor Series. But part two of the father-son war might be strong enough to book at WrestleMania 42 with or without a title at stake.

Rey doesn't seem to be eyeing retirement just yet, so a possible match with the 50-year-old putting his career on the line is perhaps not an option for now. But they could raise the stakes by having the loser acknowledge the winner as the Mysterio patriarch, and it's Dom who should get the win on this occasion, eventually leading to a best-of-three series that ends with the former IC Champion retiring his father.
