Don’t Expect To See Roman Reigns In WWE For A Very Long Time After What Just Happened At Clash In Paris

Roman Reigns and Bronson Reed opened proceedings at Clash in Paris tonight in a match where the result was never in any doubt. Reigns was always going to win, and that's exactly what happened. It's not the result that's making headlines, though. It's the beatdown afterwards that left The Tribal Chief being carried out on a stretcher, meaning we've likely seen the last of him in WWE for a very long time.

Bronson Reed And Bron Breakker Make Roman Reigns Pay At Clash In Paris

Reigns was having fun after the match, throwing his reclaimed sneakers out to the fans after choking out Paul Heyman. He made the mistake of letting his guard down as, while standing on the announce desk, Bron Breakker hit Reigns with a spear out of nowhere, and that was only the beginning of the OTC's evening going from bad to a lot worse.

As Reigns was being helped to the back, Breakker came back for more, hitting him with what might be the biggest spear I've ever seen Breakker deliver yet, and those who have seen some of those spears will know that's saying something. Part two of the beatdown ended with Reigns being strapped to a board in the ring, ready to be taken away on a stretcher, and Breakker and Reed still weren't done.

Defenseless and strapped down, Reed had recovered enough to hit Reigns with a Tsunami. It was at this point that Jey Uso interjected and put a stop to the madness, but it was too late. WWE wanted to make it clear that a lot of damage had been done. Enough that Reigns will have been written off TV for an extended period of time, and if you know about what he has going on outside of wrestling, this all starts to make sense.

Reigns Has Likely Been Written Off TV So He Can Film Street Fighter

Reigns has been flirting with the movie business, just like his cousin The Rock, and recently landed his biggest role yet as Akuma in Street Fighter. That movie will start filming soon, and now Reigns has an excuse not to show up for work. Filming for Street Fighter will reportedly take around two months. Reigns might not be needed for all of that, but the level of that beatdown suggests to me he might be gone longer than it takes for Reigns to film his stuff for the movie.

Looking at the WWE schedule, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Reigns again for the rest of the year. Even without being hospitalized by his enemies, The Tribal Chief doesn't wrestle all that much. He certainly won't be back in time for Wrestlepalooza next month. No more Roman in 2025 when it's still August might be a bit of a stretch, but my guess is, at the very least, WWE will now be without Reigns until at least Survivor Series.
