After more than a month-long hiatus, Drew McIntyre made his WWE return on SmackDown this past Friday. He was seen donning an all-black T-shirt that had “bored at work” emblazoned on it. The said three-word tagline is the Scotsman’s brainchild that he coined while wrestling Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 40.
The t-shirt is now available for the fans to buy, with McIntyre promoting its official release via his X account. “It only took them one year and three months. But you too can be bored at work,” quipped the Scot, subtly taking a dig at WWE. The Ayr-born wrestler doesn’t seem elated about the fact that it took well over a year for the company to roll out his merchandise. But, as they say, better late than never.

McIntyre’s music hit when Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton were talking about their Night of Champions clash on the July 4th edition of SmackDown. ‘The Viper’ gave his former Legacy stablemate props for pulling the trigger and not hesitating like Orton did when he had Rhodes lined up for a punt kick. After McIntyre entered the fray, he accused ‘The American Nightmare’ of buttering Orton up for months by bringing up their past.
‘The Chosen One’ was disgusted by ‘The Apex Predator’s’ psychological incompetence that ultimately cost him the King of the Ring crown. McIntyre then looked back at Rhodes and asked him to dethrone John Cena at SummerSlam so that he could then rip the Undisputed WWE title off the ex-AEW star.
The former WWE Champion asserted that he wouldn’t hesitate, unlike somebody, which was aimed at Orton. ‘The Legend Killer’ had heard enough and eventually planted the hot-headed Scotsman with an RKO.
After succumbing to the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment, Drew McIntyre was irate. He ran into SmackDown GM Nick Aldis backstage and demanded revenge on the 14-time world champion. Aldis told McIntyre that Orton had left the building, but they could settle their differences at Saturday Night’s Main Event. “That works,” said the Scot before he came face-to-face with Jacob Fatu.
They kept staring at each other for seconds until McIntyre exited. The latter is no stranger to Fatu. Both men were involved in a US title Fatal 4-Way match at the Backlash PLE. ‘The Samoan Werewolf’ was the champion back then, and the fans thought that ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ would be the one to take down Fatu.

It just wasn’t to be, as McIntyre continued his beef with Damian Priest until their rivalry culminated in a steel cage match at the May 24th edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. The former enforcer to Solo Sikoa might cross paths with ‘The Scottish Warrior’ down the road for, let’s say, the world title. A singles feud between these freaks of nature would, at the very least, be as physical as they come.
Drew McIntyre has made it clear that he’ll go after Cody Rhodes if he were to beat John Cena at SummerSlam. The WWE Universe has been rightfully getting impatient to see the towering Scot back in the main event scene yet again. His last world title reign was a 5-minute 46-second farce that Damian Priest blew off by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 40.
‘The Scottish Psychopath’ tried taking the coveted belt back from Priest but got screwed over numerous times in the process by CM Punk. Now that it’s in the rearview mirror, McIntyre would hope to turn over a new leaf as far as his world title drought is concerned.
But first and foremost, he must dispatch Randy Orton in Atlanta at Saturday Night’s Main Event to get back to winning ways. ‘The Chosen One’s’ last WWE match resulted in an embarrassing loss for him as he got humbled by Priest inside a steel cage.
