Liv Morgan’s recent shoulder injury is set to sideline the WWE star for approximately three months, according to a report from WrestleVotes. The dislocation occurred during her June 16 match against Kairi Sane on Monday Night Raw, and the aftermath is forcing the company to make major changes to an upcoming premium live event. While Morgan's fluke accident is likely to affect SummerSlam, there will be an immediate ripple effect on WWE’s creative direction for Evolution II.

Morgan reportedly suffered a dislocated shoulder, an injury confirmed on-air by commentator Michael Cole. The estimated recovery time of 12–16 weeks aligns with the typical length of a serious injury. Long-term, it's not a massive concern as Morgan is a huge star that will be pushed prominently when healthy. She may even appear on WWE programming while injured. However, her injury will keep her out of the ring, which greatly impact several creative plans WWE had.
The timing couldn't be worse for Evolution and WWE’s women’s division. Morgan had been positioned as a centerpiece on Monday Night Raw, factored into several major storylines, including her tag team title reign alongside Raquel Rodriguez and a newly ignited feud with Roxanne Perez and the returning Nikki Bella. WWE insiders note that Morgan has become vital to the division as a whole and much of the Evolution card was being worked around her.
According to WrestleVotes, Morgan was scheduled to team with Rodriguez at Evolution II in a marquee tag team match against the Bella Twins — a match now scrapped due to her injury. Recently, it was rumored that WWE was working on the details to bring back Brie Bella, with Nikki already confirmed. It's no longer clear if Brie will be part of the show or if a replacement partner for Rodriguez will be named -- potentially Roxanne Perez.
The report even hinted that the creative plans for Evolution had to be torn up and restarted.
“This morning, I was told the injury has now caused a lot of the Evolution card to basically be scrapped. She was pegged for a big-time tag team match that is not going to happen now. That spot is gonna be filled by someone else and there’s a lot of ripple effects.”
Not only will the Morgan injury affect the matches, but underlying storylines on Raw could be impacted as well.
With both Evolution 2 and SummerSlam on the horizon, WWE will now need to adjust course.
