Ex-WWE Star Bemused By Reluctance To Put World Title on Bron Breakker

Former WWE star Nic Nemeth has questioned the decision not to throw Bron Breakker into the main event picture following Seth Rollins' injury. The Unpredictable Badass wrote Rollins off TV after turning on his former Vision faction leader and stealing the World Heavyweight Championship.

Ex-World Champion Nemeth Wants Breakker To Be Pushed

Breakker didn't win the world title from Rollins but paraded it around as if he were the new champion. The latter has been forced to vacate the gold after sustaining a shoulder injury that required major surgery, and he isn't expected back in action until around WrestleMania 42 in April.

Many expected Breakker to have a rocket put on him by Triple H, especially because he was the catalyst behind Rollins' demise. But WWE's creative team appear to have reservations about putting him in the world title conversation this early.

RAW general manager Adam Pearce removed Breakker from a battle royal on Monday's show, which saw the winner, Jey Uso, book his place at Saturday Night's Main Event (November 1st). He will face CM Punk for the vacated World Heavyweight Championship in Salt Lake City next week.

Nemeth (formerly known as Dolph Ziggler) feels WWE must strike when the iron is hot with Breakker amid talk of there being concerns over age. He said on Busted Open Radio:

"There's one way to find out. Throw his ass in the deep end, and let's go. Because if you're getting behind somebody — a lot of people have been bringing up the last few years, and especially the last few weeks and months — if somebody's ready, and they're not 45, who the hell cares? Put them in the main event and give them a shot. Give them a chance. It used to be sink or swim. Why not do it now?"

Breakker arrived on WWE's main roster in February 2024 and has made major strides since first joining SmackDown before being drafted to RAW. He turned heel and became one of the most fearsome big men in the company but also gaining huge interest from fans thanks to his look, gimmick, wrestling style and Steiner family ancestry.

The 27-year-old was taken out of the battle royal because he belittled Pearce when asked to hand over the World Heavyweight Championship. But his short period flaunting the gold around without actually winning it caught the eye with many even suggesting he looks perfect with the title on his shoulder.

Triple H's Thoughts on 'Sponge' Breakker

While WWE seemingly want to take their time pushing Breakker as the top dog in pro wrestling, its clear he is the future of the company. He has been given glowing verdicts by past and present stars, including Paul Heyman his current manager who has called him "the future of WrestleMania."

Triple H is likewise a fan and he explained why he partnered Heyman with the former Intercontinental Champion even before The Vision formed. He told The Hollywood Reporter in March:

"He’s a young guy, incredibly athletic, great character, he’s a sponge. I have Heyman spend a lot of time with him to help develop him with his promos, to help develop his character, to help push him in a direction. Then Paul talks to me and talks to the writers about where do we want to take that, and then he’s the conduit for where we want to go to that talent."

Breakker will no doubt be seething to have missed out on the opportunity to officially hold the World Heavyweight Championship as champion. His future plans are now up in the air following Rollins' injury but perhaps Triple H's vision is for the son of Rick Steiner to win the Royal Rumble in January to ignite his push.
