First WWE ID contracted wrestler announced

21-year-old Zayda Steel is the first contracted talent to be announced as part of the new WWE ID program. A professional for just over two years, the Arlington, Virginia, native was scouted out of Combat Zone Wrestling. She recently spent nearly five months working in Japan for Marigold with whom WWE has a working partnership. She has also worked for MLW, H2O, Beyond, Wrestling Open and other New England/New York/New Jersey indies, but has not worked for either AEW, ROH or TNA to date. This Sunday, another WWE ID prospect will be announced during a Reality of Wrestling event. The promotion and school, initially named as one of the schools in the WWE ID program, is owned by current NXT announcer and former WWE/WCW champion Booker T. Announced last week, the program is designed to identify potential future WWE wrestlers and talents through both affiliations with specific schools and traditional scouting methods.
