Former NJPW Champion Makes Stunning WWE Debut Before 'SmackDown'

A former titleholder under the NJPW banner made his WWE debut prior to "SmackDown."

Nearly a full week after Jacob Fatu turned on Solo Sikoa, he is set to address his actions on Friday. Just one night prior to "Money in the Bank 2025," Fatu overheard Sikoa telling JC Mateo that "The Samoan Werewolf" isn't too bright. When Fatu interfered in the men's MITB, Sikoa assumed that Fatu was on the same page. Instead, Fatu slammed Sikoa through a ladder.

Could one superstar eventually be involved in the storyline? Before "SmackDown" began, Hikuleo made his way out for a match against Kit Wilson of Pretty Deadly. Hikuleo won the match, which was taped for "WWE Main Event."

During his time in Japan, Hikuleo captured the Strong Openweight Championship. He also captured IWGP tag gold with El Phantasmo. The two also secured the Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship twice.

Hikuleo's WWE debut was a long time coming. He has reportedly been under a WWE contract for quite some time, but he will now be a regular member of the "SmackDown" brand. Sikoa will likely have his sights set on taking the WWE United States Championship from Fatu. It's unknown if Hikuleo will be aligned with Sikoa and Mateo.

Fatu would need some backup if Sikoa has Hikuleo and Mateo by his side. Perhaps Damian Priest would aid Fatu in his fight against his former stablemates and his potential replacement. Fatu and Priest have shown mutual respect the past couple of weeks, so a brief alliance between the two may not be far-fetched.

Perhaps more answers on Hikuleo's future will be revealed on "SmackDown."
