Have The Odds Of A London WrestleMania Happening Increased?
WWE

Fans have been clamoring for it for a while, but have the odds of a London WrestleMania happening increased recently?

For as long as I can remember, the notion of a truly international major WWE event has been discussed, but was more of a pipe dream. Yes, WWE has had WrestleMania outside of the United States. However, for this conversation, Canada isn’t really the goal-no offense, Canadians. In recent years, locations have been changing. WWE now has a long-standing relationship to run shows in Saudi Arabia. We’ve seen a recent PLE eminate from Down Under. Plus, Backlash in Lyon, France was a smashing success.

On top of that, WWE runs it’s second Clash at the Castle in 2024. Money In The Bank will also not happen in the United States. A new event happens soon enough in Berlin, too. In case you haven’t picked up on the trend, the current leadership is quite happy to run shows wherever they can. So what about that WrestleMania in London?

Could it happen?

As politicians tend to do, they look to bring in revenue and when campaigning, they dream big. Recently, London’s mayor talked about bringing more American sports-including WrestleMania-to London. When learning of his campaign promise, Triple H had an interesting response during a Money in the Bank conference. The prospect of the biggest WWE show of the year running overseas is an interesting one. WrestleMania already draws in fans from around the globe.

The one question out there might be-would WWE fans in say, California, be OK waking up to a 9AM opening bell for WrestleMania? Sometimes I wonder, but WWE is testing the waters with the increase in overseas PLEs. In my opinon-one that no one asked for-I would love to see a bit of a hybrid event. We already know WrestleMania is and will remain two nights. What if we had WrestleMania, two nights, from at least two cities?

A two city Show of Shows has been done before, but not in decades. Could you imagine Night One of WrestleMania opening in London and ending in Los Angeles? And then Night Two flips the script? Is it ambitious? Of course. But it could be truly epic. One way or another, we could be closer to a London WrestleMania happening. So, you down for London to host WrestleMania?
