Another match has been added to the “AEW Dynasty” card.
Prior to the March 26, 2025 episode of “AEW Dynamite,” only three matches were announced for the upcoming pay-per-view event. Swerve Strickland challenging Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship, Toni Storm defending her AEW Women’s World Championship against Megan Bayne, and Kenny Omega’s AEW International Championship defense against Ricochet and “Speedball” Mike Bailey had all been made official.
Now, another major title match will be a part of the “AEW Dynasty” card. Cope and FTR were interviewed by Tony Schiavone on Wednesday's episode of "AEW Dynamite." Cope and Cash Wheeler laid out the challenge to Pac, Claudio Castagnoli, and Wheeler Yuta for the AEW World Trios Championship.
The match was later announced for "AEW Dynasty," which will take place inside Liacouras Center in Philadelphia on April 6. Fans are already expecting a major swerve in the match, as tensions have been teased between Cope and FTR's Dax Harwood.

AEW World Trios Titles
Death Riders (c) vs Rated FTR
Can Rated FTR (@RatedRCope, @DaxFTR, + @CashWheelerFTR) survive the Death Riders (@WheelerYuta, @BASTARDPAC, + @ClaudioCSRO) at #AEWDynasty? pic.twitter.com/Wi0YSRwXxs
Behind the scenes, Cope and both members of FTR are close friends and neighbors. In storyline, Harwood wants to go after The Hurt Syndicate for the AEW World Tag Team Championship, not the trios gold.
Harwood walked away from Cope during the March 19 episode of "AEW Dynamite." This was right after Cope failed to capture the AEW World Championship from Jon Moxley a second time.
It's clear that Harwood wants to move on from The Death Riders, but will he be pushed too far if FTR and Cope fall short against the faction yet again?
