It's 2025, and Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan still can't shake the wrestling itch. Bischoff has never really left the business, just changed roles. In recent years, he had a brief stint as the executive producer of SmackDown and has had decent success with his "83 Weeks" podcast. Hogan has explored other projects, notably his Real American Beer.
But seemingly out of nowhere, the former nWo members have reunited for a new venture nearly three decades after their stable broke into the mainstream. In a recent interview, Bischoff and Hogan discussed their new company, and it's likely not what you're envisioning.
While talking to Alfred Konuwa of Forbes, Hogan and Bischoff laid out their mission statement. "Real American Freestyle is world-class athletes, elite-level athletes, Olympic-level wrestlers, collegiate champions, but in a professional environment with a lot more entertainment," Bischoff said. "You do the backstories first so the people care about the athletes, and you see where they started, and the injuries, and what type of family background they have, and in the history package, I think that kind of sets people up to care for the athletes," Hogan said.

That's right—Bischoff and Hogan are trying to revolutionize the catch wrestling world by adding some of that sports entertainment flair. It's an ambitious prospect, particularly with the UFC and WWE/AEW cornering both sides of the market, but it's a unique premise that could have some fun novelty.
They mentioned there is no television deal in place yet, and they haven't even done their first show. It'll be fascinating to see how long this lasts and if it's even able to get out of the blocks.
