Former WWE star Mr. Kennedy didn't leave WWE on the best of terms. Pegged to be a huge star in the industry, he was on the rise until several incidents soured the company on pushing him as a major player. Years later, he says he would be open to a return.

Mr. Kennedy Has A New Perspective On His WWE Past

During a spot in the match following his 2009 return to WWE, Kennedy did a belly-to-back suplex on Randy Orton, but something went wrong. Orton claimed that he landed on his neck.and it was reported that Orton's frustration played a huge role in WWE deciding now to move forward with Kennedy as a big name. During a recent interview on “Insight With Chris Van Vliet,” Kennedy admitted that following his WWE release and while he wrestled with TNA, he had “no desire” to go back. "I never wanted to blow the bridge up completely," but he had no interest in returning.

“When I was at TNA, I was like, I’ll never go back there. I’ll never work for them again."

However, now that time has passed, he's grown, and he understands there was a lot more to it than one in-ring mistake, he thinks about WWE differently. “Now it’s changed. I would definitely [go back] now,” Kennedy admitted.

What Changed For Mr. Kennedy?

Things are different now. He explained, "“Instead of looking at myself, I was looking at this person did this, and that person did that, and they screwed me. He added, “Then at some point I realized I played a hand, a huge hand, in all that.” He said it took a long time to get over that feeling.

He elaborated and said, “I don't exactly know what it was. Those guys that went to Vince and said, we can't work with this guy anymore. Had I been doing all the right things up until that point, that conversation would have gone differently. The fact was that that was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, and Vince was tired of [it all]. There was a lot of negativity around things that I was doing, my attitude…”

He was upset that people were talking about him, and he said that he now takes responsibility for giving others a reason to complain about him. To learn how to take responsibility, he did a lot of reading and self-reflection. When asked if he feels like the biggest "what if" in wrestling, he admitted that no one has ever said that to him.
