There’s a new favorite pairing in WWE Raw — former WWE Women’s Champions IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. SKY recently spoke with Chris Vliet about how their pairing works because of their “chemistry.”
On the latest episode of “Insight with Chris Vliet,” SKY explained that, because of how different styles they have in the ring, the duo makes a great team. Ripley is the muscle, and SKY is the “flippy person.” She said:
“We have chemistry, I think because we are totally different people. She’s tall, she has muscle and she’s so cool. I’m not as cool as Rhea Ripley, for sure. She’s nice and muscley, I’m running fast, I’m so small but I can flip, and she’s not a flippy person. We’re so much the opposite, so that’s why I think we have great chemistry.” (h/t: WrestlePurists)
The two started their friendship not long after Ripley warned SKY about Asuka. At first, SKY didn’t believe her, but found out that Ripley was right all along. It just took both of them getting hit with Asuka’s mist. So Asuka (and Kairi Sane) turned on SKY, and Ripley was the one who had her back. Though it hasn’t been easy for the two when feuding with Asuka and Sane.
Last Saturday, October 11, Ripley and SKY defeated Asuka and Sane at Crown Jewel: Perth. On this Monday’s episode of RAW, while Ripley would get the win over Sane, it was the post-match that went into the Kabuki Warriors' favor. Ripley started to fight with Asuka and was about to hit her with the Riptide, but Sane saved her. Though Asuka hasn’t been the nicest to her tag team partner either. She’s definitely on a mean streak.
Though it’s the most exciting the Kabuki Warriors have been in a while. That also goes with IYO SKY. SKY has changed her character direction, and it’s working well. Her teaming up with her former rival was a smart move on WWE’s part. Though this is WWE after all, who knows how long their partnership is going to last? Just this week, we saw The Vision break up and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins get booted out of the group he created.
