TNA stars Jeff and Matt Hardy have been having a busy 2025. It was just last Tuesday, October 7, 2025, during the WWE NXT vs. TNA Showdown event, where they became the NXT Tag Team Champions. A few days later, this past Sunday, October 12, at TNA’s pay-per-view Bound For Glory, they had their last match against rivals WWE Hall of Famers Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley. During an interview with Justin Barrasso, the brothers talked about Father Time.
"Para ser sincero, no creà estar vivo para 2025. Los inicios de los 2000s fueron una locura."-Jeff Hardy via Undisputed. Hoy dÃa está 100% sobrio y entregó su vida a Dios. While speaking on Barrasso’s podcast, “Undisputed,” they discussed their match against the Dudleys, also known as Team 3D in TNA. The conversation went on about how Jeff was surprised that he made it this long, especially with his insane wrestling moments and past substance abuse. He said:
“Tell you the truth, I didn’t think I’d be alive in 2025.” (h/t: Fightful)
He later said how it was cold plunges that helped him stay physically and mentally in shape, and added:
“It was madness back in the early 2000s.”
At Bound for Glory, The Hardy Boyz retained the NXT and TNA Titles against the Dudleys. Post-match, it was an emotional scene — Bubba and D-Von handed the Hardys their boots, meaning they would be retiring.
The Hardy Boyz, on the other hand, look like they aren’t done just yet from the looks of it.
Jeff and Matt became the TNA Tag Team Champions at Slammiversary on July 20, 2025. They won the titles in a Four-way tag team ladder match. Their opponents were Nic and Ryan Nemeth, The Rascalz (Myron Reed and Zachary Wentz), and Fir$t Cla$$ (A.J. Francis and KC Navarro).
As mentioned, they won the NXT titles last week. They defeated the then-champions DarkState (Dion Lennox & Osiris Griffin). It’s the first time that the brothers have held the WWE NXT Tag Team Titles.
The future WWE Hall of Famers also hold two other tag team titles. A few days after winning the NXT titles, on October 10, 2025, they won the House of Glory Tag Team Titles against indie stars The Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black). Almost a year before, they became the 4th Rope Tag Team Champions in December 2024. So they currently hold four tag team titles, which is a big feat for a tag team that has been around for decades.
