John Cena Defends Shares surprising Comments on Vince McMahon

WWE is far from a perfect product, but with Triple H's help, the programming has been the most consistently engaging for the first time since the early half of the "Ruthless Aggression" era. The angles are far more consistently entertaining, and the willingness to push up-and-coming stars is refreshing.

Vince McMahon simply lost his creative touch and was self-sabotaging his own company. The Janelle Grant lawsuit not only shed light on his misconduct backstage but also ended his destruction of the wrestling industry. His upheaval was necessary and welcomed, which makes it increasingly bizarre that the current Undisputed WWE Champion refuses to waver in his "love" for his former boss.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Cena, yet again, defended his continuous relationship with Vince.

"Everybody's entitled to their opinion," Cena said. "Just like I'm entitled to have an emotional connection to somebody. I don't hold anybody or how they feel or what they view as permissible or things that'll make them angry, happy, excited, or sad. That's their right as a human being."

It goes without saying that Cena is an adult and entitled to have any feelings he wants regarding whoever. If his favorite wrestler of all time were Alex Wright, I'd laugh, but I'd hear him out on his take.

This doubling down on his support for Vince is understandable given their history, but it is getting a bit bizarre. Vince helped Cena become a megastar, and there is naturally a sense of loyalty that comes with that, but maybe steer clear of endorsing him publicly so often.
