John Cena Forgotten Rival Blames WWE Fans For Farewell Tour Snub

John Cena is facing some of the biggest rivals of his WWE career on his Farewell Tour, but one of his past foes is fuming with fans for a lack of acknowledgment. The 17-time world champion has faced Randy Orton, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar and will next take on AJ Styles at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, in one of his last remaining five appearances.

The Miz 'Pissed' With Fans For John Cena Tour Snub

The Miz went on a lengthy tirade about the likelihood of missing out on facing John Cena before he calls time on his career in December. He alluded to his past battles with the Greatest of All-Time and how fans have been clamoring to see others such as Styles.

He told The Schmo: "It pisses me off as a WWE Superstar because I feel like I have had a big rivalry with John Cena. I’ve had multiple WrestleManias with John Cena. And yet the fans aren’t sitting there saying, ‘Hey, we want The Miz vs John Cena.’ They’re saying, ‘We want AJ Styles vs John Cena'."

He added: "John Cena has five matches left – or five dates, I don’t even know how many matches are left in his pocket, but there’s five dates. That’s it. That’s five Superstars that are gonna get an opportunity to be in the ring and I want myself to be one of them. I’ve been vocal! I’ve been the first person to say out there that I wanna put my name in the hat to go against John Cena. I was the first person, when I heard about the whole farewell tour, I said, ‘I wanna be the first person to put my name in the hat.""

Cena suggested fans had made their voices heard regarding a desire to see him face Styles. Miz brought this up while also wildly claiming fans also wanted Brock Lesnar as an opponent: "All the fans had to do was tweet and go on Instagram and talk about it, get it riled up, to where it would be The Miz vs John Cena one last time. But no, you wanted the Randy Orton. You wanted the Brock Lesnar. You wanted the AJ Styles. You didn’t ask for this guy."

Miz could still yet get his wish and be one of the final opponents on the tour, given his former rival will have four remaining dates after Crown Jewel. But it's not looking promising with reports suggesting Dominik Mysterio is a contender, while fans are crossing their fingers that AEW star Cope has been given permission to do the unthinkable and be Cena's last match at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 13.

The Miz Should Blame WWE Creative Not Fans

There is no doubt that The Miz deserves more recognition for his career given he's been one of the best heels over the past decade. His biggest feat came at WrestleMania 27 in 2011 when he beat John Cena in the main event to successfully retain his WWE Championship.

That's why the Awesome One can't be viewed as one of Cena's greatest rivals, as he was booked as a third wheel in that very match. The main focus was on the tension between Cena and The Rock to build towards their match at WrestleMania 28.

Many view Mania 27 as one of the worst in WWE history, and Miz's booking as a weak main eventer leans into that thinking. He deserved to be showcased as a top star, given he was WWE Champion and proved many of his doubters wrong.

While the 44-year-old has never been a must-see in the ring, he has been a must-see as a total package. He has memorable feuds of his own to cherish, such as his blurring of the lines' drama with Daniel Bryan (AEW's Bryan Danielson) , and his captivating back-and-forth with Dolph Ziggler.
