Considered one of the best technical wrestlers in the business, former ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham revealed a shocking medical emergency on Thursday. The 37-year-old wrestler suffered two strokes earlier this week. Gresham, who is married to WWE NXT Superstar Jordynne Grace, revealed the scary details on social media.

Jonathan Gresham Talks About His Medical Emergency

Gresham shared how he woke up on Tuesday and couldn’t walk or move the left side of his body. It would take him 30 minutes to get help and call 911. Doctors weren’t sure what happened, but noted how it could be linked to Gresham having a “bad case of COVID” a couple of weeks ago. He said:

“Two days ago, I woke up and couldn’t walk or move the left side of my body. I couldn’t see and could barely talk. It took me 30 minutes to dial 911, but I finally did. I woke up in the hospital, couldn’t remember what had happened. They told me they had done an MRI and I had two strokes. I’ve had a lot of tests run but everything has come back clean. They’re not sure what happened, and the only thing they said was it could have been a possible complication from a bad case of COVID I had a couple of weeks ago. They said we may never know the exact reason.”

It was this past Saturday at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport XIV, when Gresham last wrestled. He lost to WWE Raw Superstar Pete Dunne. Gresham is not only a former ROH star, but he also wrestled in TNA. He's currently wrestling in several indie promotions, including Game Changer Wrestling.

Jonathan Gresham Had To Be Convinced About His Diagnosis

Not surprisingly, Gresham had a hard time believing the doctor, and it was his wife who had to fully convince him by showing a photo of his face. Gresham will be out of action for two to four weeks, though there is always a chance that it could be longer. He added:

“Needless to say, I will be taking the next 2–4 weeks off from wrestling to recover and get cleared fully by my neurologist. My wife saw me get carted off from the house on our Ring doorbell camera and somehow flew from Orlando to Atlanta in time that she was there when I woke up. I wasn’t fully convinced I had a stroke until she showed me this photo of how my face looked. I never thought this would be something for me to worry about at 37 years old. I will be back soon.”

On a happier note, on Friday morning, Jordynne Grace shared a light-hearted moment on X, previously Twitter. She shared a smiling Gresham standing up, hooked up to IVs, with the caption, “He was trying to ask the neurologist today if he’d be okay to wrestle this weekend. Already back to testing my patience.” The pair have been married since 2020. Wishing Jonathan Gresham a speedy recovery!
