There have been a lot of stories coming out from the aftermath of WWE SummerSlam, and one of them is what’s going on with Karrion Kross. There was speculation that Kross would be leaving WWE after his match against Sami Zayn on Night 1 of SummerSlam, but that does not look like the case. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave a major update on where Kross and Scarlett stand with WWE.

WWE Did Offer Them A New Contract Deal

Per the report, Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts are set to “expire imminently,” and as of this writing, there has been no news about them re-signing with the company. Meltzer also noted that reports about Karrion not getting an offer deal are false. WWE reportedly did offer him a new contract deal. Meltzer said:

“I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract. I heard that that is legit, but that he did get an offer. “The story that he didn’t get an offer — and maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written, it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer. I don’t expect him going anywhere.”

So, in other words, even though they haven't re-signed with WWE yet, don't be surprised if you see Kross and Scarlett in a WWE ring soon. Meltlzer seems positive that Karrion and Scarett aren't going anywhere this time.

Is The Contract Drama An Angle?

Meltzer also believes that the whole situation about WWE not respecting him and the contract drama is likely an angle. It’s a way to help build his popularity, which, if it’s just really a ploy, it’s helping his career. Fans are behind him and Scarlett for a bigger push in the company. WWE crowds have been chanting “We Want Kross” throughout stadiums.

One of the things that stood out to Meltzer to make him believe that it was all just part of a storyline was how WWE had promoted Kross’ new memoir, “Life is Fighting.” Meltzer also brought up Paul Heyman’s praise while on The Ariel Helwani Show. As reported, Heyman compared Kross to the early rise of WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin and former WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan. This current run in WWE is both Kross and Scarlett’s second with the company.

The pair were first released from WWE in November 2021 after signing with the company in February 2020. Once WWE Chief Content Officer, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, took over, he rehired the duo in August 2022. So far, his biggest achievement in the company, title-wise, has been winning the NXT Championship twice, and some of his notable feuds include those with Sami Zayn and AJ Styles.
