Former TNA Digital Media Champion Laredo Kid announced on Monday (October 6) morning on social media that he is leaving Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Though he told the promotion that he would be back in the future.
Thank you for everything to this great company and family @ThisIsTNA . I appreciate your tremendous support. I hope to return to work in the future. We're on a new path. pic.twitter.com/bZT0xOHVoQ— Laredokidpro (@Laredokidpro1) October 6, 2025
Kid took to X to announce his departure. He first made his TNA Impact in March 2017. Though his main run with the company was between 2021 to 2025. He wrote:

Kid’s last TNA match was on May 24, 2025, taped episode of TNA Impact. There he was part of the TNA World Tag Team #1 Contendership Four Way match. Kid is also signed with Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He’s currently the AAA World Cruiserweight Champion. Kid and his tag team partner, Octagon Jr., are known as Aztec Warriors and were recently part of the AAA x WWE Worlds Collide event on September 12. As noted, WWE acquired AAA this past April. The news was revealed during WrestleMania 41.
Kid also teamed with his AAA tag team partner Octagon Jr in TNA. In 2024, he had a singles run trying to capture the TNA X-Division Title. He was in several title matches, including in November 2024 when he faced then-champion Moose at Victory Road. Before that, he was in an Ultimate X match at TNA Emergence 2024 with the title on the line. At that time, the champion was “Speedball” Mike Bailey. Sadly, Kid would never hold on to the title.
In April 2024, at the Countdown To Rebellion, Laredo Kid defeated Crazzy Steve to become the new TNA Digital Media Champion. He would hold on to the title until May of that year, losing it to AJ Francis during the TNA 20th Anniversary special. In his TNA career, he also had matches with other favorites like Eric Young, The Rascalz, Leon Slater, and Frankie Kazarian.
So, it appears that Laredo Kid will be concentrating on his AAA career. Though with WWE and TNA’s partnership, which officially began in January 2024, you never know if he will show up on Impact again. Just this time, Kid won’t be under a contract with the company. Also, speaking of WWE and TNA, the promotions are both having a TV special this week on October 7 — NXT vs. TNA Showdown on the CW.
