Latest Asuka Injury Update Not Looking For 2024
WWE

Asuka has not been on WWE TV in months, with little explanation, and the latest injury update does not look positive.

Injuries are just part of the pro wrestling business. Sometimes, it happens because one is sloppy and then there are freak injuries like Adam Cole destroying his ankle. Often, it is important how the person rebounds and if they can keep their position on the roster upon returning. Asuka was set to compete in the Queen of the Ring Tournament before Dakota Kai noted she was hurt and would be taking her spot in early May. Kai then lost to Lyra Valkyria.

Asuka did upload a video to her YouTube channel, where revealed lingering problems with her knee. She added how the European Tour made matters worse. She thanked everyone for the support in her closing remarks from the clip. Sean Ross Sapp took part in a Q&A on Fightful Select and revealed a return in 2024 is not looking good. “Not expected back by the end of the year according to people in WWE,” said Sapp. “But anything can happen. Don’t know the type of surgery yet.”

Asuka Off WWE TV Might Be For The Best

Yes, the type of surgery is important. After surgery, one could be out a few weeks or up to a year. It all depends on the surgery and how successful it was. While away, Damage CTRL is clearly struggling to find any major storylines. Bayley was drafted to SmackDown , thus ending her feud with the stable. That leaves Kai, Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane with little to do.

Of course, the Asuka in NXT was an unstoppable force who never lost. She had a nice much on the main roster before suffering her first loss to Charlotte Flair. Since then, she no longer found the similar success as her NXT days. Maybe, the time-away will allow her to return rejuvenated. So, does the latest Asuka injury update signal the end of Damage CTRL?
