  • Liv Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder during a routine takedown.
  • WWE immediately stopped the match and declared Kairi Sane the winner.
  • The injury could impact Morgan's involvement in upcoming WWE events.

In a weird sequence that wouldn't normally be considered high risk, Liv Morgan fell awkwardly on her elbow during a takedown and appears to have seriously injured her arm or shoulder. Even though the match had barely started and was only one or two moves in, Morgan was unable to continue her bout with Kairi Sane. Realizing something was immediately wrong, Morgan quickly rolled out of the ring, waited to be looked at, and was eventually helped to the backstage area. Sane was declared the winner of the bout that was stopped.

Morgan Suffers Dislocated Shoulder

Liv Morgan was scheduled to face Kairi Sane in a one-on-one match on Monday Night Raw, but the bout was quickly brought to an end when Morgan was legitimately hurt. Before the match could gain any momentum, a routine takedown resulted in an unexpected injury, forcing officials to call off the contest. Medical staff rushed to attend to Morgan outside the ring as the broadcast cut to a commercial break. It was quickly determined that Morgan could not continue, and the WWE Raw announcer officially declared Kairi Sane the winner by stoppage.

WWE play-by-play man Michael Cole announced a few minutes later in the show that Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder. Corey Graves tried to describe the incident, but it was clear this was a fluke thing that wouldn't have injured a wrestler in most circumstances.

This clearly wasn't planned, as Kairi Sane waited in the ring to find out if the match would continue. WWE cut to a break during Morgan being examined and WWE did not post footage of the incident and injury on their social media timeline.

How Long Will Morgan Be Out?

This injury is unfortunate timing. With Evolution II right around the corner and with Morgan one-half of the Women's Tag Team Champions, this injury has the potential to affect WWE's creative plans dramatically. If Morgan is out for some time, it could mean the titles require being vacated.

Most people recover within two to 12 weeks without surgery. If this is minor, it might not be a huge problem. If this is serious, and Morgan ends up needing surgery, this could be a long-term issue that carries over into SummerSlam and other major events.
