  • Lyra Valkyria is being positioned as a new face of WWE's women's division in 2026.
  • She's held NXT Women's and WWE Women's Intercontinental titles and thrived on every test.
  • Expected 2026 push could see Valkyria win the Women's Royal Rumble and chase WrestleMania gold.

It appears that WWE has found one of its new faces for the women’s division, and it’s former WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria. WWE is positioning her to be a top star.

Lyra Valkyria Is The Future Of The Women’s Division

According to BodySlam.net, via WrestlePurists, sources have indicated that Valkyria will be busier than ever. WWE has big plans for her coming into 2026. Additionally, according to the report, Valkyria is being viewed as a “big piece” in the women’s division for the future.

Valkyria has been with WWE since January 2020, and she was part of the now-defunct NXT UK. After the brand ended, she moved to Orlando, Florida, and went on to NXT. Her NXT debut was on December 13, 2022, and two years later, she made her main roster debut on the May 6, 2024, episode of RAW. There, she had helped save her then-friend Becky Lynch from Damage CTRL.

So far in her four years with WWE, she has feuded with the likes of Becky Lynch and Bayley. Along with the WWE Women’s Intercontinental, Valkyria also held the NXT Women’s Championship and, for a (very) short time, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles.

What’s Lyra Valkyria Up To Now?

At the moment, she’s been feuding with Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez. Her last match was on Monday, October 6, on WWE RAW, where she lost to Perez. Earlier, on the September 15 episode of WWE RAW, Valkyria would defeat Perez.

She made her return to NXT at the NXT Homecoming special. There, she, Charlotte Flair, and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated Fatal Influence. Valkyria took the spot of WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton.

Her last WWE PLE was at Summerslam in August, where she lost to Lynch in a No Disqualification match for the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title. Becky had retained the title, and it was Valkyria’s last chance to try and get the title back. Valkyria was the Women’s IC Champion from January to June. She lost it to Lynch at the Money in the Bank PLE on June 7.

So it wouldn’t be surprising if we see Valkyria first win the women’s Royal Rumble and then go to WrestleMania 42, facing one of the current Women’s Champions. That is, if she is going to get that big push in 2026. She definitely deserves the push.
