WWE has made a last-minute change to tonight’s NXT Championship match.
The company announced Tuesday afternoon that Mason Rook is not medically cleared to compete and has been pulled from his scheduled championship match against Grayson Waller.
Rook was set to challenge Waller for the NXT Championship after earning the opportunity by defeating Tony D’Angelo and Saquon Shugars in a Triple Threat No. 1 Contender’s Match on Sept. 15.
There is still going to be an NXT Championship match tonight.
WWE confirmed that Waller will defend his championship as scheduled, but has not announced his new opponent. That adds some intrigue to a show that already features another championship match and two first-round matches in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
