The main event of WWE Evolution saw Iyo Sky defending her WWE Women’s World Championship against Rhea Ripley, but neither woman was able to walk out of the show with the title. Instead, Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank contract to make the match a triple-threat match and wound up hitting a split-legged moonsault on Sky for the victory. Let’s take a closer look at what this means going forward for the women’s division on Monday Night RAW.
Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley were having a fantastic main event match with the story being Sky being a perfect 5-0 in head-to-head action against Ripley. The match was a back-and-forth showdown before referee Jessica Carr was hit with a missle dropkick and was down for a significant amount of time and the two fought into the crowd for a while before eventually getting back to the ring. Both women were down and all of a sudden, we saw Naomi head down to the ring to cash in her Money in the Bank briefcase.
Naomi would officially make the match a triple-threat and get the victory to win the WWE Women’s World Championship, the third major title for her in her WWE career. After losing earlier in the night against Jade Cargill, this is a way for a major heel to be added to the RAW women’s division. There is a lot of intriguing matchups and gets to be a lot more fresh matchups, including a potential Clash in Paris matchup against Stephanie Vaquer after she won the battle royal.
It will be interesting to see who will be challenging Naomi for the WWE Women’s World Championship going forward and who will feel the glow.
