Naomi Celebrates 15 Years in WWE

USA Network was the one who shared a post on X about it being “15 years of Naomi.” The former WWE Women’s World Champion retweeted the post, with the caption:

“Beating up your favs for 15 years is crazy.”

What was her debut match? It was on the September 7, 2010, episode of NXT, and she tagged with Kelly Kelly. They defeated former WWE stars Alicia Fox and Maxine. Naomi’s mentor for season three of the then-competition series was Kelly. Kelly recently confirmed that she has signed a WWE Legends Contract.

As noted, the returning AJ Lee also made her WWE debut on September 7, 2010. Her husband, CM Punk, had posted about her and Naomi’s debuts on Instagram, calling the two vampires because they had never aged since their debuts.

A Brief Look At Naomi’s Career

Naomi is currently out of action due to her pregnancy announcement. This is her first baby with WWE Superstar Jimmy Uso. Uso has two children from a previous relationship. Naomi had to relinquish the Women’s World Title, only holding it for less than 40 days.

Naomi really started off her WWE career as one of the members of the Funkadactyls with former WWE star Cameron. They were valets to then-WWE Superstar Brodus Clay. Their main roster debut was on the January 9, 2012, episode of RAW. The tag team would break up in the summer of 2014.

Naomi’s first singles title run was in February 2017. It sadly wouldn’t last long. She defeated the then-WWE Women’s World Champion Alexa Bliss at the 2017 Elimination Chamber PPV. Her reign was cut short because she had to relinquish the title due to a legitimate knee injury.

Though that same year in April at WrestleMania 33, Naomi would once again become champion. It was a Six Pack Challenge match that also included then-champion Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Natalya, Carmella, and Mickie James. It was a stacked match.

Her third and most recent run started at the second Evolution PLE, when she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase to be put in the match against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley. She would get to defend it once before leaving due to her pregnancy. The match was at this year’s SummerSlam, where Naomi retained against Ripley and SKY.

Naomi’s WWE career has had its ups and downs. She most famously left while holding the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles in May 2022, with Sasha Banks. Though unlike Banks, who now goes by Mercedes Mone, Naomi returned to WWE. Since her Royal Rumble 2024 return, she has feuded with Jade Cargill, was a world champion, and held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles with Bianca Belair.
