Nic Nemeth (former WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler) is currently part of the TNA Wrestling roster. While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Nemeth revealed whether he had ever considered signing with AEW after his WWE release.
WWE released Nemeth in September 2023. In January 2024, Ziggler would make his debut at NJPW and his TNA debut at the Hard To Kill pay-per-view. One place he didn’t go was All Elite Wrestling. During an appearance on the “Insight with Chris Van Vliet” podcast, he explained why he never went there. He said:
“I wasn’t. I love so many people there. I’ve had a couple of conversations with Tony (Khan) in the past, and I rooted for those guys every step of the way. AEW being a thing helped a bunch of people out, worst-case scenario, with negotiating and setting up their career for years down the line. I go if this ends in two or three years, it helped a bunch of people out and put some other people on TV, and they’re rocking and rolling and doing their thing.” (h/t: WrestlePurists)
For those who remember, Nemeth’s brother Ryan was in AEW from 2021 to 2023. Though he didn’t leave on a great note. According to Post Wrestling, Ryan filed a lawsuit in the Superior Court of California against AEW, AEW CEO Tony Khan, and former AEW star CM Punk on February 14, 2025. In the complaint, he alleged assault, professional retaliation, and blacklisting from the wrestling industry.
While WWE has had a partnership with TNA for a while now, Nic has yet to make a return to the company that he was with for 19 years. His last TNA match was on the September 27 taped episode of TNA Impact, where he defeated The Home Town Man (Cody Deaner).
He’s held two titles so far in the company. He was the TNA World Champion from July 2024 to January 2025. Nic and his brother were also the TNA Tag Team Champions from April 2025 to July 2025. They lost the titles to Jeff and Matt Hardy at Slammiversary. As noted, the Hardys recently became the WWE NXT Tag Team Champions this past Tuesday at the NXT vs. TNA Showdown event . So maybe if they didn’t lose the title at Slammiversary, would it have Nic and Ryan Nemeth instead? Maybe.
