Hulk Hogan’s son Nick Hogan isn’t happy about a planned documentary coming from Hulk’s former friend Bubba The Love Sponge. TMZ reports that Nick, on behalf of his father’s estate, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, September 2, in a federal court in Florida.

Nick is claiming that the upcoming documentary, which is titled The Untold Story of the Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal, infringes on his father’s copyrights and trademarks. The lawsuit claims that the documentary features “unauthorized images and video footage,” and Bubba is promoting the film using Hulk’s trademarks without permission. Nick wants to stop the documentary, which is supposed to come out sometime later this month.
Hogan’s son is also accusing Bubba of violating a settlement agreement that he and Hulk had agreed to when Gawker first leaked the sex tape. As per the outlet, "the details of the agreement are redacted in the suit."
The infamous sex tape, which was recorded in 2007, revealed Hogan saying that he was “racist, to a point,” while using racial slurs. The tape included Bubba's wife at the time, Heather Clem.Once the video became public in 2015 by Gawker, WWE cut ties with Hogan, even taking him out of the Hall of Fame. It wasn’t until July 2018 that they reinstated him, and he returned to the ring that year in November for Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.
As noted, Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24 at the age of 71 in Clearwater, Florida. His cause of death, according to the medical examiner, was an acute myocardial infarction or a heart attack. Though weeks later, the 911 report implied that Hogan’s death was due to medical malpractice and that the WWE Hall of Famer had “just stopped breathing.”
As per the Clearwater PD police report via TMZ, there was an occupational therapist in the room, who allegedly told responding officers that Hogan was a victim of medical malpractice. The therapist believes that during one of Hogan’s recent operations, the surgeon “severed his phrenic nerve.” According to WebMD, the phrenic nerve “controls the diaphragm, the dome-shaped muscle that is primarily responsible for breathing.”
Hulk's widow, Sky Daily, is planning, according to an August 28 report from TMZ, to file a medical malpractice lawsuit against the doctors who performed his neck surgery this past May. Daily believes they were the reason that his phrenic nerve was severed. So, it appears that Hogan’s family is ready to battle it in the courts.
