NXT Results (3/17/26) – Houston, We Have a Problem

The Nygma’s View

Jacy Jayne retains

Jacy Jayne retained the NXT Women’s Championship spectacularly by defeating both Sol Ruca and Zaria in a Triple Threat Match. The pace was frenetic, and that benefited Sol Ruca early on as she used her unorthodox style to gain an advantage. Zaria’s power and the presence of Women’s Speed Champion Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid were ultimate equalizers.

Ruca went for a Sol Snatcher but was met on the top rope by Zaria, who proceeded to launch her across the ring and bash her former friend into the mat. Jayne fell victim to a Sol Snatcher, but Ruca was yanked out of the ring by Zaria and hit with a devastating F-5 onto the floor. Henley and Reid managed to attack Zaria and distract her long enough for Jayne to cover Ruca for the win.

Tony D’Angelo, Ricky Saints, Ethan Page, and Joe Hendry

Ricky Saints thought Ethan Page would go for the NXT North American Championship again, but Mr. Ego wants the NXT Championship, like Saints. The two seemed to be on the same page. Joe Hendry appeared. He agreed that Page pinned him last week. Hendry thought they could square off to determine the true #1 contender. Saints and Page argued and attacked Hendry until Tony D’Angelo shut everyone up.

¡Viva Los Americanos!

El Grande Americano led his team to a huge victory against The Vanity Project thanks to his signature headbutt. Rayo and Bravo Americano lit up Ricky Smokes in the early goings, but only until Evolve Champion leveled him with a cheapshot. Their celebration was short-lived, though, as Los Americanos used their high-flying lucha skills to down their opponents and delight the crowd.

The Vanity Project didn’t stay down for long, but his Burning Hammer and 450 Splash weren’t enough to win the match. The official admonished Brad Baylor on the outside after he attempted to cheat, allowing Bravo to hand El Grande Americano the lead plate for his mask. Los Americanos isolated Smokes, allowing El Grande Americano to hit a huge jumping headbutt to secure the victory.

Booker T Appreciation Night

In front of his family and some ROW students, WWE 2-time Hall of Famer Booker T received all the honors. Vic Joseph talked about his legacy. Some former and current NXT talents thanked him. Keanu Carver interrupted the celebration, but Jasper Troy stopped him.

Wren Sinclair did it

Before the match, Lola Vice, Kendal Grey, and Wren Sinclair had gold in mind. Wren Sinclair won her first Championship in WWE as she dethroned Fatal Influence’s Fallon Henley for the Women’s Speed Championship. Both Superstars raced, looking for the finish to beat the 5-minute time limit, but it was Sinclair who locked in The Final Wrench to submit Henley and win the title.

Like Fathers, like Sons

William Regal and Fit Finlay advised the BirthRight before their match. Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Uriah Connors are now one step closer to the NXT Tag Team Title after defeating former champions Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. The Big Belly Boys looked poised to win the bout, but Lexis King ran into the ring and took the brunt of a huge Honk Honk, allowing Connors to sneak up on Walker to steal the pinfall.

Rage in a Cage

Tatum Paxley vanquished Izzi Dame in a hard-hitting and personal Steel Cage Match. Dame attacked Paxley before the match could even begin, tossing her around the ringside area and bringing a steel chair inside the structure. Paxley ducked the initial steel chair shot, leading to increasingly violent strikes between the two.

The rivals found themselves perched on the very top of the cage, and it ended disastrously for the Champion as Dame launched her off of it with a Superplex. The challenger’s assault continued as she slammed Paxley into the walls of the cage, but she miraculously countered into a Code Red-esque move onto the steel chair. A dazed Dame was then left helpless as Paxley hit Cemetery Drive to retain her title.

After the bout, Blake Monroe appeared from under the stage and dragged Paxley down into the depths with her.

Meanwhile, backstage…

• Sol Ruca asked NXT General Manager Robert Stone to see Zaria face-to-face next week.
• Ricky Saints will face Tony D’Angelo next week.
• DarkState attacked OTM backstage.
• Thea Hail, Jaida Parker, and Kelani Jordan are ready to collide.
• A Gauntlet Eliminator match will decide next week who will face Myles Borne for the North American Championship at NXT Stand and Deliver.

Nygma Says

Some good and some bad in this episode. There’s some good build-up for NXT Roadblock and NXT Stand & Deliver, with a little shadow. The Mania season has begun, which means some NXT talents may be called up. So, we suddenly see a lot of challengers gravitating around the titles. Joe Hendry has 3 contenders for the NXT Championship. Jacy Jayne also has quite a lot of people to deal with.

Then, Tatum Paxley and Izzi Dame stole the show. Blake Monroe, as suspected last week, made her presence felt. Wren Sinclair won the Speed Championship and truly deserved her first title in NXT. Ricky Saints and Ethan Page’s alliance is more and more fragile. We call this the ecstasy of gold. Keanu Carver ruined Booker T Appreciation Night. That wasn’t the right place to start a feud with Jasper Troy, but it had to start somewhere.

NXT is in Atlanta next week. NXT Roadblock will take place at the MSG in NYC on March 31. The road to NXT Stand and Deliver is huge. Well, this new era of NXT is as exciting as it can be surprising.
